AVENGERS: ENDGAME Lands Earlier Release Date In The UK

While the North American release of Avengers: Endgame was recently moved from May to April, fans in the UK & Ireland will reportedly get to see it even sooner than expected. Hit the jump for more details.

Marvel fans in the UK were dealt a serious blow last year when the World Cup delayed the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp by a month. However, that was a rare one-off because most Marvel Studios movies hit the region days and sometimes weeks before the US.

In a bid to avoid spoilers, Marvel moved both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame from May to April, but it's been confirmed today that UK fans will be getting the latter one day sooner on April 25th.

While some fans will be annoyed by this, it doesn't make that much of a difference; after all, Avengers: Endgame will be shown in the US on Thursday evening anyway so the UK is only really getting it 12 hours earlier and that should make it somewhat easier to avoid spoilers popping up online.

Tickets haven't gone on sale for the movie yet but more than likely will in late February/early March. How do you guys feel about this news? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

@Doomsday8888 - it might be pure genius, getting it 12 hrs earlier will start a buzz rolling that could occupy news streams for a solid 24 hrs and then grow into the weekend.

I have absolutely no idea why we get MCU movies first (I'm sure there's some reason we do) but I am 100% no complaining.

@Fishandchips - they typically assign a date but what is more important is the time... late thursday opening night. so if the UK gets it then and then the U.S. gets it the same "time" then they can create a news buzz that rolls around the planet as the sun sets in each timezone.

@JonC - yeah, that's maybe the case here, but for some of the MCU movies, we've had them a week or 2 before.

Another great display of journalism by Wilding.
Endgame comes out in France in April 24th (movies come out on wednesday here). We've known this for months. So that UK date is not that important.
