THOR: RAGNAROK Hot Toys Loki Figure May Reveal The Movie's Connection To AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
It's pretty obvious that Thor: Ragnarok is going to lead into Avengers: Infinity War in some way but a new action figure from Hot Toys may reveal a big connection to both that and 2012's The Avengers...
Those lucky enough to be at D23 last weekend were treated to the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. We'll find out tomorrow whether or not that's going to be released online (it's unlikely) but one of the most interesting sounding moments from that was a scene involving Loki, Thanos, and the Cosmic Cube first introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger before it returned in 2012's The Avengers.
The last time we saw it, it was being safely kept on Asgard following Loki's defeat but a new Hot Toys action figure for Thor: Ragnarok confirms that it will be making its return in that movie this November.
It appears as if it's being kept in the same room full of artefacts that we saw in 2011's Thor but what significance could it have to this release? Well, we know Loki promised Thanos the Tesseract and failed to deliver while there's a very good chance Hela will want to get her hands on it. We'll have to wait and see but how this release ties into Avengers: Infinity War is now at least just a little more obvious.
UPDATE: As some of you have pointed out, that's actually the Casket of Ancient Winters from the first Thor movie! The Tesseract's potential role in Thor: Ragnarok remains a mystery then but what might this be doing back? We'll have to wait and see but share your theories in the comments section below.
