MARVEL'S AVENGERS Confirms Kate Bishop As Post-Launch Character & Reveals A Mystery Surrounding Hawkeye

As fans across the globe begin to delve into the world of Marvel's Avengers, Crystal Dynamics has officially revealed Hawkeye's protégé Kate Bishop as the first post-launch Hero to join the roster.

In the wake of Chadwick Boseman's passing on Friday, Crystal Dynamics has decided to postpone their Black Panther announcement to honor his memory and have instead opted to reveal Kate Bishop as their latest post-launch playable character for Marvel's Avengers.

While Ant-Man, Hawkeye, and Spider-Man (Playstation Exclusive) have previously been confirmed to join the game post-launch, it's now been confirmed that Kate Bishop, voiced by Ashley Burch (Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet), will actually be the first Avenger that we'll gain access to. It also looks like her story mission will tie in directly with Hawkeye's, who the trailer seems to suggest may have fallen in with the wrong crowd when we first meet him.

Here are brief descriptions of their respective Hero Operations:

Operation Marvel’s Avengers: Kate Bishop — Taking AIM will directly advance from the conclusion of the Reassemble campaign, and includes a new villain for Kate to face off against.

Operation Marvel’s Avengers: Hawkeye — Future Imperfect. Considering the strong friendship and connection between Kate and Clint, we think of their Operations as a “double feature.

Get your first look at Kate Bishop in the reveal trailer below:

Marvel’s Avengers is a third-person action-adventure game where you play an all-new, original Avengers story reassembling Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

This video dives deeply into how you customize Super Heroes’ Gear, Skills, Outfits, and how to launch missions from your helicarrier base of operations to take on AIM.

Marvel's Avengers is set to release on September 4

Any early access peeps here? How's the game like so far? Do you unlock good costumes playing the story or are all the good ones tied to the challenge cards?

@RageDriver2401 - You get the best skins through the story, but the character “battle passes” are pretty bad. Most skins are just recolours.

The game is fine, but honestly, nothing special. It’s buggy as hell, though. I’d definitely wait for a sale. It has its moments but it’s definitely not worth the price I paid for early access

@DaHyro - oh I'm glad the battle pass skins are just recolours. The battle pass progression is capped to 2 challenges/day, which I'm not a fan of.

I pre-ordered the standard edition way back, I would've cancelled but my local retailer offered a free upgrade to the steelbook case + some more collectibles, so I kept it.

Thanks for the info!

@RageDriver2401 - I just finished the campaign, the games pretty fun, got a bit of grind too it if you wanna get a lot of skills unlocked for multiple heroes lol you get a couple good costumes for free through the campaign but there are some good ones in the market place and challenge cards. ( it seems there are more costuems that they haven't put into the game yet that we've seen elsewhere)

Not a gamer and I keep on jumping on these stories thinking we’re talking about the MCU. 😂

Hyped for the game but....

I think adding more female characters is a great idea, but I don't know what needs to happen for Scarlett Witch to get one of these spots. I get that MCU synergy is something this game is toying with, so reading the room on Kate Bishop makes sense, it's just you aren't gonna get me hyped twice with an archer this early on in the process. I'd much rather she be a 'shadow' character for Hawkeye a la Smash Bros

@OmegaDaGrodd - I think we'll be getting Scarlet Witch as well as some other female heroes

I'd like to see Iron Fist,Wasp and Quasar (Wendell Vaughn) in the game

She looks pretty Hailee Steinfeld-ey.

I still want to know why she's teleporting around, she's not Nightcrawler.

I for one am happy that Kate is getting some love. Outside of the comic readers, she really doesn't have a presence in the Marvel fandom. I'm sure that's gonna change when she shows up in the Disney+ show, but this is good exposure for her too
