In the video below (around the 34:00 mark), Samuel L. Jackson once again confirms that he won't be making an appearance as Nick Fury in Black Panther. However, when asked about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor may have dropped an unexpected spoiler in regards to the return of a villain fans have been hoping would show up again ever since way back in 2011.
We're obviously talking about Captain America: The First Avenger villain, the Red Skull. When we last saw him, he vanished while attempting to wield the Tesseract, an object Thanos is now on the hunt for as he looks to assemble the Infinity Stones. However, could he somehow be alive and well?
"You didn’t see me in [Captain America:] Civil War," Jackson said. "I’m still out there trying to figure out what The Skull is going to..." Unfortunately, he was cut off there, but that definitely sounds like a reference to the HYDRA leader. It could be that he was referring to that villainous organisation or simply got his words mixed up, but the Red Skull coming back in Avengers: Infinity War could work.
Of course, based on past comments from Hugo Weaving, he won't be reprising the role. It goes without saying that this is speculation for now, but check out the video below and then be sure to let us know your thoughts on what Jackson may have been referring to in the comments section.
