Kevin Feige On Whether Hela Replaces Mistress Death In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Could a key aspect of Thor: Ragnarok be to introduce Hela as a substitute for Mistress Death before Avengers: Infinity War? "Anything is possible," says Kevin Feige when asked about that particular scenario.

Ever since the character's confirmation for Thor: Ragnarok and  Cate Blanchett's casting, there's been a persistent rumor among the fan community that Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death would be replacing Mistress Death's role/relationship with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.  The general school of thought is that introducing the physical manifestation of an abstract entity like Death might be too confusing for general audiences to wrap their heads around.

When asked about this rumor, Kevin Feige answered noncommittally, "Anything is possible."  However he followed with, "But knowledge of the comics can be both beneficial to fans anticipating things, and also misleading. So you'll have to see."  Is Thanos' motivation (destroying the universe to gain the attention of his beloved Mistress Death)  for all of his wicked endeavors what Feige had in mind when he made this statement?

Some tweaks are expected as comic book storylines make their transition to film but is swapping Death for Hela one that you can stomach?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Wouldn't be against a little more Cate Blanchett in the MCU

@breakneckbeck - Or a lot. There are plenty more Asgardian stories to tell outside of Thor's.

@CapnSquintyEyes - Agreed.

Vidar is not so well talked about for example.
He is the 2nd strongest Aesir and has a giant boot made from all the left over leather from making boots thru all time.
He freaking steps on Fenris jaw with it and kills the wolf after it ate Odin!
He is therefore the Avenger of Odin/Asgard and one of the few Aesirs to survive Ragnarök.

Sounds like he's hinting she is replacing death?
-Anything is possible instead of no
-And then fan's knowledge of the comics being misleading meaning thinking it will be Death he's after is wrong

@MyCoolYoung - I saw it as a subtle reference to Thanos loving Death

Honestly? I don't really care what they do. As long as it's done well. Besides, you don't hire an actress the caliber of Blanchett and only use her in ONE movie. Who does that...?

*dwells on some of Marvel's casting decisions*

Oh dear, I see a pattern...

...anyway, I don't care. As long as it's done well.
