Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and director of Marvel Studios’ "The Avengers," spoke with CBR’s Kiel Phegley at Comic-Con International in San Diego about the upcoming "Buffy: Season Nine" comic series, juggling his work on "Avengers" with the comic’s new season and his plans to dial back the widescreen action from "Season Eight," returning to the character’s roots as well as the level of interaction fans can expect between the various Buffyverse titles.

Whedon also discusses the influences of the various comic incarnations of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will and has had on his "Avengers" film as well as the feeling of having the Avengers assemble on set, in costume, while he and the actors all geek out.

I'm just hoping that the ultimates has no more than a minimal influence on the story. Loki is a good choice for the villain. Hope that means we get to see the Enchantress and the Executioner, as seen in Avengers:EMH, which is one of the best things on TV.

i wanna see skulls hinted to, so we can see skrulls in a second one. not just a look badies fight them. i wanna see skrulls infiltrate the worlds capitals, and [frick] shit up. with the avengers not even knowing until something terrible has happened. and a skrull infiltrated shield, so the avengers can't even turn to them. I think PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, should be a SKRULL in the AVENGERS movie. Sort of a SHOUT OUT to the whole "is obama AMERICAN" people. Maybe SARAH PALIN can be one TOO, just for FAIRNESS

Oh ok. Well maybe FOX can make PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA really turn out to be THE CHAMELEON, in their SPIDER-MAN reboot.

In the sequel to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, Spidey fights Obama, who is not a real person, but the evil CHAMELEON instead. FOX could do that. IT'S a REAL possibility.
