More Evidence Of Skrulls AND Kree In The Avengers

More Evidence Of Skrulls AND Kree In The Avengers

Before The Trailer have managed to track down a more in depth version of the extras casting call sheet I posted yesterday, this one pretty definitively states that The Avengers would do battle with both the Skrulls(who have been rumored for sometime now) and The Kree..

Story:

A superhero team called “The Avengers” do battle against two separate alien extraterrestrial humanoid life forms. The Avengers are a superhero team, consisting of a group of Marvel Comics heroes aka “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”. The aliens that The Avengers will fight are called “The Kree” and “Skrulls”. These two extraterrestrial races become embroiled in a war for ages that ultimately makes its way to Earth, and the Avengers unite to intervene with all their power and might combined.

The Skrulls have been rumored to be the villains along with Thor's brother Loki in the movie for a while now, with some sites claiming to have confirmed this without question. However we still have not heard anything official regarding the villains and story The Avengers will follow. IF this casting call sheet is legit(and it would seem to be) it's a safe bet that the Skrull/Kree conflict will be the backbone of what compels the heroes into action.

Loki, Hulk, Skrulls and the Kree??? This movie needs to be 6 hours long!

Hm. Kind of hard to believe they could fit that in one movie, but hey -- ya never know.

If this is all true, it will have to be a very long movie with a break in between, or do a two part epic with a month or so in between.

This does sound pretty legit, if it's coming straight from the casting call.
Maybe Loki can be more behind-the-scenes as a villain, while Hulk will go on a huge rampage or two in the first quarter or whatever. And the rest will be bursts of epicness.

They'll have to break this up into several movies. Hopefully, we'll get a 9-hour, 3 part Civil War!!!

THIS movie CANNOT consist of several episodes "a la LOTR" since Iron Man 3 is coming and it would definitely screw with their continuity...

Loki will do nothing but convince them and they will be presented in there classical way but through the Ultimates Volume 1 plot.

It is not to much it would do just fine. It would be battle Los Angeles but with super heroes as the primary cast.

This story to me is the only way it will make sense honestly....

I have NO idea how they're going to fit a Kree and Skrull war into the Avengers. That's just WAY to much to fit into one movie, unless the movie is a three hour epic! I trust Marvel but....damn.... this is a MASSIVE undertaking!

There is so much that they are doing with this movie that I get the feeling that it's going to suck.

Could be something more like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? To me, it makes sense... the past few years we've been getting two Marvel movies at a time. And in 2012, we're only getting The Avengers???

Two parts in the same year.... Part 1 Loki and the Hulk in May (tease at the end the Skrulls)... Part 2 Kree/Skrulls in December....

"The Avengers" theatrical release on dvd/blu-ray (5 hours long)... extended version/uncut... 6 hours!!!

I can't WAIT!?!?!?!

I don't think Kree/Skrull will play a big part in this movie, but I'm sure they'll be set up for the sequel. I can see them being the main antagonists of a trilogy. It will probably be revealed that the Skrulls have infiltrated Earth by the end of the first film. We'll meet the Kree in the second and the big showdown will be in the third.

this isnt a origin story for any of the heroes...they can go STRAIGHT into action, no need for a prolonged backstory...aliens invading. heroes needed. nuff said. hulk rampages at the end. avengers fight him.loki is seen pulling the strings. Hulk 'becomes good'. all get together. call each other The Avengers. credits

Seems like wayyy too much for one movie....They must be planning on making this galactic fight a 3-movie arc then. You can't introduce and resolve a Skrull/Kree conflict AND Loki in one 2-2:30 hour movie.

If they make it 3-3:30 maybe :)

Marvel is already changing the way movies are being made by crossing individual characters into a shared "universe". Who's to say what other rules they are going to change? I wouldn't put it past them to do back to back movies within a year (filmed all at once, ofcourse) or something else crazy like that. God I hope they don't try to fit all that into one 2-2 1/2 hour movie.

@ intruder

i agree,it could be like battle la in epicness but instead of that alien species.

it'll be the kree & skrull & instead of sending in the marines you send in the avengers..........i've got to stop i've just messed myself.

Well they are already teaming up in other movies so it will be straight on to the action , I bet that marvel already has a boatload of movies all planed out on their drawing boards all based in the glorious MCU . Too bad they couldn't make like 10 movies at once and blow our heads off .

I'll confirm Loki as the villain for you. The kree and skulls i heard nothing about , but if its true i bet Marvel plans the skull and kree seeds in avengers 1 and Avengers 2 will have the huge war.
Banner123
Banner123 - 3/10/2011, 10:54 AM
I think this is a huge mistake. First of all, one of the main things that has been making Marvel's films successful is the fact that they have been able to attract mainstream audiences who may not know the history of some of these characters and stories, while still staying somewhat loyal to a lot of the source material in order to appease hardcore fans of the comics. While the Kree/Skrull war is compelling, I think it's too much for a casual fan to take in. The original Avengers coming together because of Hulk/Loki is a much better way to go as to not go over the heads of those who do not have knowledge of anything in the Marvel Universe beyond what they have seen in the movies. A much better way to introduce these Alien races would be Loki summoning them in defeat at the end of Avengers. A cameo or what not. Otherwise, I feel Marvel could be setting themselves up for disaster...

marvel studios too hasty in this matter. how they maintain the existence of each character when so many characters in it?
not cool, i thought..
