SDCC '15: Marvel Skipping Hall H, But BATMAN v SUPERMAN Is Expected To Steal The Show

According to a new report, Marvel Studios will NOT be staging any sort of Hall H presentation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, but Warner Bros. are going to be there in full force with both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad...and Justice League?!

Marvel has overshadowed DC for two years in a row now (and pretty much every single one before that too), but it now looks like it's the latter's time to shine. Deadline reports that Marvel Studios will be skipping a Hall H panel this year, while Warner Bros. are plotting a "significant presentation" which is expected to focus on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League Part One. The site also believes that Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Will Smith will all be in attendance. Does this mean Marvel are scared of being overshadowed by DC?

In all honesty, Marvel just don't need to show up. Ant-Man will have already been released by the time Comic-Con rolls around, while Captain America: Civil War is a movie big enough not to need any sort of promotion at the annual event. They've also already announced their Phase 3 slate too, but here's hoping we get some concept art or something from Marvel next month. Thoughts?

I say, smart move by Marvel. Nothing worth showing. Civil War will sell itself. Let DC try.

Marvel honestly doesn't require a huge promotional presence at the con. They already got hot legs in the race. It's DCs time to get things rolling.

I don't see the point in them showing up tbh. They've already revealed everything up until 2019 of what movies are coming.

Looking forward to what WB/DC will offer.

Yeah. Remember when WB/DC owned ComicCon by showing a 4-second teaser and a logo? Cool times.

I think this is good, we can see more of what DC is doing

Also, Marvel held their own event last year, which worked out well, and I want to be surprised by Civil War.

That AOU comic con trailer showed too much

"while Captain America: Civil War is a movie big enough not to need any sort of promotion at the annual event..."

Um, what? Captain America: Civil War will need a ton of advertising if it is going to make the money that Marvel wants. Batman V Superman is a movie big enough to be released without any of the comic con advertising its going to get, but going to Hall H will probably break the internet.

D23 is not nearly as big of an event as comic con.

Bigger question is, what the [frick] is WB going to show for Justice League: Part One? That movie is still very far away.
