Will Hulk & Loki Face The Avengers After All?

Will Hulk & Loki Face The Avengers After All?

Recent claims for Marvel's highly-anticipated Avengers movie, has villains in common with Stan Lee's first original 'Avengers' comic. Check it Out!

While the big question regarding Joss Whedon's highly-anticipated Avengers film, is what villain would cause earth's mightiest heroes to assemble, various rumors and speculations had the original God of Mischief & Jade Giant in mind. Well a more-recent allegation has made the rumor more of a possibility.

Gregory Littley, who revealed that the first official THOR teaser would debut via Yahoo, says verbatim:
The Hulk will be a villain in #Avengers... but the main baddie is Loki.

As mentioned, theres been heavy speculation of the two villainizing, simply because they did so in the original "Avengers' comic. However, most of that speculation originated from the devious replies in the actors behind Loki and Hulk, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo when questioned whether it was true.

While Gregory states theres more details to come, for now, take this with a grain of salt. I can definitely see them respecting the first comic using the original plot of Loki taking over Hulk in some form or way in the film, though not as the main threat. If true, I'm sure theres a twist, or simply more villains involved. Though that's quite a lot to deal with, what do you think?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Samuel l. Jackson, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Clark Gregg, The Avengers assembles May 4, summer 2012 in 3D. And filming is set to commence early next year.

i certainly dont mind this but i thought it would be better to fight whole group and HOPEFULLY hulk breaks free of control from loki and fight along side the avengers that would be pretty good

loki & the enchantress using mind to take control of the hulk would be a fantastic idea & a nice homage to the classic avengers 1.

im sure its classic that story, but that doesn't make sense, i mean nick fury is forming the avengers for a reason, i thought they were going with some kind of global threat, not one of loki's evil plots against thor

Can Hulk dent Captain's Shield?

elcaballerooscuro92 - 12/9/2010, 9:02 PM
i know he is a glbal thrat, but i meant a more obvious glbal threat, one that shield would knew about, like an upcoming alien invasion or an hydra related plot, after all there are rumors of baron zemo's son being the villain

drknight, I have a feeling it's the Hulk SHIELD wants to bring down not knowing Loki is pulling the strings on his latest rampage.

Hulk Buster Armor would be Epic! Cap vs Hulk = greatest shit ever! Thor vs Hulk = just topped greatest shit ever! I hope this has truth.

I want to see Hulk fight the rest of the team at least a little bit, but he is still an avengers. and while loki will be A villain, I get the impression he wont be THE villain.

I know it does not go with the timeline but is there any chance we'll see the Hulk Buster Armor?

well i don't know who the villain is gonna be, and it doesn't matter if its MODOK or Loki or Hydra or the masters of evil or a kree invasion, i'm still gonna go watch the movie and enjoy it as much as the man of steel, the spidey reboot, the dark knight rises, and kung fu panda 2.

@Ironbat95 Hulk can definitely dent the shield. It's durable not indestructible. Adamantium has been broken numerous times throughout MCU's timeline.

@Scion & @Ironbat95-- but Cap's shield isn't made of adamantium... If I'm not mistaken, adamantium was created when a scientist tried to duplicate the metal Cap's shield is made of... His shield is unique in that it's not "durable", it is indestructable (well, nearly, anyway). The more force applied to the shield, the stronger the bond between the shield's molecules become, thus making the shield become more durable with each hit. The only times it was broken were when the Beyonder screwed around with the molecular alignment; by Molecule Man, who broke it apart on a molecular level; Thor, when powered by the Odinforce, and Thanos, when he was wielding the divine power of the Infinity Gauntlet.

So, no -- The Hulk couldn't put a dent in it.
Scion
Scion - 12/9/2010, 9:53 PM
What's it made out of? Adamantium. Not Vibranium anymore right? So if Adamantium has been broken in the past Adamantium will break/bend again. Unless it's special Adamantium.

This movie is already teeming with great characters, which is a risky thing to attempt in Hollywood. If they add too many more, the movie could be doomed. But, we'll all know in 2012...

@Intruder-- I could buy that Hulk could possibly become angry enough to dent it, because that's all Odenforce-Thor was able to do...

If they can some how pull that off and make it as epic as it sounds, i dont care if it is the $h!tiest movie ever it will be the best thing i have ever seen. and with JW at the helm it will be very very very great

I would like to see a Ruffalo cameo as Bruce Banner at the end of Thor. And at the End of Cap, Hawkeye and Black Widow should find Cap in the ice. And when the team gets together in the Avengers and Fury is about to tell them why he brought them together, he gets cut off by a sheild agent telling him that the hulk is loose. and once they defeat hulk and loki. Fury says something along the lines of, "This isn't why I brought you together... there is something coming..." and the 2nd avengers movie be a kree/skrull invasion.

Doesn't sound like much. I'm assuming Thor can take down Loki solo... I was hoping for more of a skrull-based alien invasion plot.

Red Skull and Hydra or Baron Zemo with his group would have been my choice, but this is fine, if its true?

Who would you prefer
Hugo Weaving as Red Skull or Tom Hiddleston as Loki?

I think this is a no-brainer. Notonly does it pay homage to the original Avengers comic, but it eliminates one "good guy," Hulk, and one "bad guy," Loki, from needing origin stories.

Introducing The Skree or any other alien race is best left for the sequel, after all the previous multitudes of characters, good and bad, have already been firmly established.

(Hank, Janet, the building of Ultron, and perhaps even Agent Carlson being revealed as a Skrull secret agent.)

@skyler - totally agree

Hulk, Loki, and Enchantress = Avengers

Skrull alien invasion = Avengers 2

The recent cartoon series is good at adapting the old series in a more modern setting.. however will the people making the movie want to pretty much copy something that was a cartoon a few years before?

1. Loki/Hulk

2. Clandestine Skrull Invasion

3. The Masters of Evil (Lead by Baron Zemo)

Wild Card: Ultron

Of course The Skrull's could just as easily be exchanged in place of T.M.O.E for a third film, Ultron could take the place of either (The Skrull's or The Masters of Evil) as well; ...or not. However, two of those three are bound to be used in a trilogy, witch two is impossible to know at this point.

Marvel may use Ultron to introduce Hank and Janet (or Hank and Janet to introduce Ultron) in the second film. I have a strange theory when it comes to Hank Pym. Its that he will make his first appearance via a hefty cameo in the third Iron-man film being involved in something to do with the Mandarins alien tech, somehow leading into the construction of Ultron. That could just as easily happen after IM3 in the second "The Avengers" film, but I'm just sayin'.

My fan boy dream is for The Vision to be introduced eventually; if there is indeed a Skrull invasion film. I don't care if he appears without Scarlett Witch, he needs to be a part of The Avengers. Plus, there are plenty of other characters that can take her place to play up the synthetic love angle if they really wanted to (Whedon would be all over that).

Sharon Carter and Mar-Vell would also have to be introduced in the Skrull film being that they're Kree, witch might help expand the cosmic aspect of the Cinematic Universe at that point. Could be interesting, seeing how this whole Cinematic Universe pans out is probably the most entertaining thing about it for me personally.

Good news, as everyone think the twist in this movie will the introduction of the Skrull Invasion that's will be the real reason of the avengers reunion =/

They probably will be the villains, and I certainly hope they are, but how this dude would know for certain is anyone's guess. I think its more along the lines of a Mark Millar Batman villain tweet!
