There's a lot of excitement surrounding Batgirl, and after filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah knocked it out of the park with Bad Boys For Life and the Ms. Marvel premiere, it's fair to say the Caped Crusader is in safe hands.
Unfortunately, we don't know when the movie is actually going to be released. With a Christmas setting, the expectation was that it would be released on HBO Max this December. However, The Flash's delay and a change of leadership at Warner Bros. now points to Batgirl debuting theatrically sometime in 2023.
In the meantime, we have some new behind-the-scenes photos of Leslie Grace suited up as Batgirl and (we're assuming) Brendan Fraser as the villainous Firefly.
While new content from the movie is welcomed, these images haven't been shared in the happiest of circumstances. "Heartbroken," El Arbi says in the post below. "Little brother Finley was a cancer patient who visited the set of Batgirl with his family. He passed away this morning. He was a true superhero and I pray for him and his family. Rest in peace sweet soul."
Needless to say, our thoughts go out to this little boy's family and you can find details on the battle against cancer - and donate to help cancer research - by clicking here.
As for Batgirl, we're hoping a trailer will be shared when Warner Bros. brings Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods to Hall H later this month. Those two blockbusters are all they've hyped for Comic-Con thus far, but we're definitely expecting some big surprises (whether The Flash will be among them given those recent Ezra Miller controversies remains to be seen).
Keep checking back here for the latest on Batgirl as we have it.
