Rumour has it Warner Bros. Discovery destroyed Batgirl in order to avoid the movie ever being leaked or released in a fashion similar to Zack Snyder's Justice League. That may have been a misdirect in order to stop fans from embarking on a campaign to try and force the studio to share the DC Comics adaptation, but either way, we don't expect it to ever see the light of day.
That's a real shame on a number of levels, particularly as it means never getting to see the hard work of those behind and in front of the camera.
Recently, Leslie Grace's stunt double, Emely Cartagena, took to social media to share some of her work on Batgirl. As you can see in the video below, she spent a lot of time practising for a huge stunt that would have featured Gotham City's newest Caped Crusader using a Christmas tree to cushion her fall after leaping into what looks like a party of some sort.
It may look like something of a rookie move for a superhero, but remember that Batgirl was supposed to follow Barbara Gordon during the first stages of her career as a crime-fighter.
Cartagena also shared some fun behind the scenes photos alongside Grace and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
The outrage surrounding Batgirl's cancellation does appear to have died away in recent weeks, though we have heard that a lot of filmmakers and actors are now reluctant to work with Warner Bros. Discovery. That may go some way towards explaining why it's been so difficult for the studio to find someone who is willing to take charge of the DC Extended Universe moving forward.
