BATGIRL: Newly Revealed Set Video Shows A Massive Stunt With The Hero Crashing Into A Christmas Tree

A new set video from Batgirl has been revealed that shows Barbara Gordon - in full costume - using a Christmas tree to lessen the impact of a quick trip to the ground after arriving through a skylight...

Rumour has it Warner Bros. Discovery destroyed Batgirl in order to avoid the movie ever being leaked or released in a fashion similar to Zack Snyder's Justice League. That may have been a misdirect in order to stop fans from embarking on a campaign to try and force the studio to share the DC Comics adaptation, but either way, we don't expect it to ever see the light of day.

That's a real shame on a number of levels, particularly as it means never getting to see the hard work of those behind and in front of the camera.

Recently, Leslie Grace's stunt double, Emely Cartagena, took to social media to share some of her work on Batgirl. As you can see in the video below, she spent a lot of time practising for a huge stunt that would have featured Gotham City's newest Caped Crusader using a Christmas tree to cushion her fall after leaping into what looks like a party of some sort.

It may look like something of a rookie move for a superhero, but remember that Batgirl was supposed to follow Barbara Gordon during the first stages of her career as a crime-fighter.

Cartagena also shared some fun behind the scenes photos alongside Grace and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

The outrage surrounding Batgirl's cancellation does appear to have died away in recent weeks, though we have heard that a lot of filmmakers and actors are now reluctant to work with Warner Bros. Discovery. That may go some way towards explaining why it's been so difficult for the studio to find someone who is willing to take charge of the DC Extended Universe moving forward.

@OptimusCrime - This is how I know I am in full divorced dad mode. My daughter told me about her into the spider verse shirt she’s getting. And I told her yeah I have one in my cart on Amazon… dude spiderverse shirts are fire LOL plus a Murdock and Fisk handshake while their shadows, daredevil and kingpin, face off, with a Hell’s Kitchen backdrop. Tell me that ain’t right “no it’s right but still. Dress like a grownup” I do. But I’m not goin to all the stankin dang time!

@TheWalkingCuban - Grownups dress however they dang well please. That's how you know you're a grown-up and not just "acting like" one.
Don't dress "like" a grownup. Dress as a grownup.
(that means Spider-verse and DD shirts are A-OK)

@ObserverIO - Strictly speaking in terms of women, Post divorce it turns out I really want to dress just how I did in high school. Dickies fits with the top button buttoned and the rest teasing a cool t shirt. Shades and a hat kicked to the left, even when I wear blue

A Christmas tree! Sounds like some amazing action in this one. I wonder why they shelved it and compared to a TV pilot. Did they get the idea by watching Hawkeye?

@bobevanz - I was thinking the exact same thing. Just didn't remember what movie it was from, only that it was Jackie Chan

Doesn't look like a TV pilot to me but then again I'm not some basement dweller (nor racists or misogynist for that matter) who has nothing better than to piss on every comic book property.

@BobbyW - same. Looks pretty good to me. Looks exactly like Hawkeye, and nobody was calling that CW pilot level

That looked pretty impressive to me. Surely enough spectacle in my opinion
