Batgirl is one of the first DC Extended Universe movies to head straight to HBO Max, and while the character arguably deserves the big screen treatment, this promises to be an interesting experiment for Warner Bros. The first in a possible slate of lower-budgeted DC Comics adaptations designed for the streaming service, the hope is that these will lead to a further increase in subscribers.
Very little about the movie was revealed at DC FanDome, though we did get some concept art confirming that Leslie Grace's Barbara Gordon will keep her red hair from the comic books.
Since then, it's been confirmed that Doom Patrol star Brendan Fraser will take on the role of Firefly, and he joins a cast that includes J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Jacob Scipio in an undisclosed role (the prevailing theory is that he'll suit up as the villainous Killer Moth).
While we wait on a first look at Grace suited up as the DCEU's Batgirl, the actress decided to celebrate Halloween with a fun social media post. In the video, the In The Heights star dons a mask and onesie that, while not representative of what we'll see in the movie, definitely offers a fun idea of what the actress will look like when she sports the cape and cowl in Gotham City.
