Fathom Events Adds 300 More Screens For BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE

Batman: The Killing Joke is now Fathom Events' largest release in history as the film will play on over 1,000 screens on July 25.  The film will play in these select theaters from 7:30 PM to 10 PM.  If you plan on seeing the film in theaters, be careful, it will be released on VOD platforms on July 23.  Despite being adapted from the famous Brian Bolland and Alan Moore graphic novel, director Sam Liu has previously stated that WB Animation had to add what is in essence, a Batgirl prequel film to the story in order to achieve a proper run time.

Batman: The Killing Joke will be made available on blu-ray and DVD on August 02.  The one-night only screening will feature a special introduction from Mark Hamil along with a documentary that takes fans behind-the-scenes of the production.

Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy voice the Joker and Batman, respectively.  Tara Strong voices Barbara Gordon.  Sam Liu directs, while Bruce Timm serves as executive producer. The film will be the 25th release from the DC Universe: Animated Originals division of WB Animation.

GOT MY TICKET! Seeing it twice. First at Comic Con, then again, the next night at the theater.

One of my favourite graphic novels. Intrigued with the added Batgirl plot before the 'incident'.

Plus Conroy AND Hamill? How could you not be excited?
