Check Out Legendary Makeup Artist Rick Baker And DC Collectibles' Terrifying New JOKER Bust

Academy Award-winning makeup artist Rick Baker is responsible for some of the most groundbreaking creature designs and special effects in movie history, and now he's teamed up with DC Collectibles to bring us a truly unsettling interpretation of Batman's arch nemesis, The Joker.

Baker designed, sculpted and painted the limited edition 1:1 scale bust of the iconic villain, which is set to go on sale just in time for Halloween this October.

When DC Collectibles first approached him, Baker said he'd only be interested if he could have complete control of the character design.

“I figured they wouldn’t go for it, but to my surprise, they said ‘OK.’ I insisted that I would need a proper amount of time to create the bust and their answer was, ‘Take whatever time you need.’ I asked if I could choose the character and they said, ‘Fine.’ I told them I wanted to make a version of The Joker that’s never been done before,’ and they replied, ‘Sounds great.’ I then said, ‘You guys are just too difficult,’ and left. [Laughs] Seriously though, I didn’t expect DC Collectibles to keep their promises, but they did. I had a blast sculpting my version of The Joker and exploring his twisted and demented personality.”

Check out some photos of the bust below, and let us know if this is something you'd consider adding to your collection.

I, uh... I don't really know how I feel about this. I mean, it sure looks kinda creepy, but not in a way I've ever associated the Joker with. Looks more like a goblin version of the character, if I'm being honest.

@Spidey91 - exactly my first thought... it's a goblin not a jester

he went to great lengths to detail the face and skin textures and the rest of the bust looks like colored wax.

Looks like a goblin. It's also weird seeing that detailed head on such a basic, cartoony torso lol.

I would love to see Baker translate this into a real Joker makeup, see how it works. Cool concept. Nice sculpt.

Pretty cool take on it. I see Bakers horror pedigree shining through. Looks like the joker if he were in an early 80's slasher movie. I dig it as an else world's type of take. Joker looks pretty old though. But the wrinkles are well detailed
