The details from the
Joker script that leaked online a couple of weeks ago were met with a mixed reaction, but there is still quite a lot of excitement surrounding Todd Philips' intriguing standalone origin story for Batman's most iconic villain.
Now, the director has
shared a new still from the film which gives us another look at Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck applying his Joker make-up. The image is accompanied by the caption, "finishing touches," which obviously suggests that Philips has almost completed post-production.
Just in case there was any doubt after that first trailer, Philips has also confirmed that the movie will be rated R, responding to a fan's query with,
"It will be rated R. I've been asked this a lot. Just assumed people knew. Sorry."
Joker also stars Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro and Marc Maron, and is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
