Looks like Batman fans are about to have a bit of a bad day on July 22; legendary voice actor Mark Hamill has confirmed that he will not be attending the world premiere of Batman: The Killing Joke at San Diego Comic Con. Hamill, who is reprising his role of the Joker in the R-Rated adaptation of the classic story, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that his shooting schedule for Star Wars: Episode VIII will be preventing him from making an appearance. "It doesn’t look like I’m gonna be able to make it this year, because of the shooting schedule here. I don’t get back until the third week in July." Hamill added that he wished he could be there, "I wanted to go, because that’s where they're gonna premiere The Killing Joke, and [Batman voice] Kevin Conroy is gonna be there. I'd love to see it with an audience. But it doesn’t look like my schedule’s gonna allow it this year. My major obligation right now, obviously, is to Episode VIII."

While this is disappointing news, fans can at least rest easy knowing that Kevin Conroy will be attending the premiere. Batman: The Killing Joke will be available for Digital HD download on July 26, and arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on August 2.

[frick]ing Disney! They know DC is going to win Comic Con again so they didn't let Mr. Hamill go. Disney can have the box office, it's all about the Comic Con hype.
