First of all I should state that the reason this is set in Supergirl's CW Universe is because that universe don't have a leather fetish (yet). Plus I want it to tie in with a reality where Superman and Batman hangout. I tried to keep the cast small as I will continue to keep adding more as my mind thinks about it, but for now here's who I have so far... so with no further due I'll start it off with Martha and Thomas Wayne:
Martha Wayne: Jenna Coleman
Jenna Coleman is a wide range of talent. From her quirky companion from Doctor Who to her new Drama based Television Series on the cruel leading Queen Victoria, she can go from a happy appreciating Mother to a terrified and scared on in a heart beat... Obviously referencing the Wayne's death there.
Thomas Wayne: Matthew Davis
Matthew Davis is most recently recognised for his work on CW's The Vampire Diaries. Even though he has worked with the CW before, this does not mean this is the reason behind me wanting him to play Thomas Wayne. Davis can carry himself on screen, as well as having the perfect balance between charisma and pride, I like to think this is the man Bruce later bases himself on, except more eccentric for cover up purposes...
Bruce Wayne (8+): Jacob Trembley
Where to start... This kid is an up and coming star, his talent in 'Room' was just untrainable. The kid has a natural flavour to changing from a hyper loveable kid, to a devestated, angry and confused kid. He knows how to carry himself on screen and that's what we as viewers would want to see from a boy beginning on his path to be his future crime fighting self.
Bruce Wayne/Batman: Jay Ryan
Jay Ryan was a funny choice for me, especially since I never originally could see him as Batman... But then I watched another CW show that he starred in: 'Beauty and The Beast', I became convinced after I saw something from him in two particular scenes: where in one he is talking to the main protaginist, whilst brooding over the city landscape on the edge of the building, literally if you slapped some bat ears on him he'd feel and look just like Batman. The second scene was a Bruce Wayne inspired one for me - he has to blend in with a party and he has to pretend to be someone other than his dark quiet self and manifests almost into this charasmatic, loveable smooth talker. The catch is he really plays it off so well, like I don't agree the show was any good but he was a higlight and especially in that scene. Now that's my logical reasons behind Ryan being my first pick for my CW Batman, but here's a few physical reasons too... If the picture above didn't already convince you. He's just over 6ft. Naturally deep voiced and not to mention he's just weighing in over a 100kg.
Alfred J. Pennyworth: Jonathan Pryce
Jonathan Pryce is probably one of the only underated and versatile actors out there for his age, if there's anyone who could pull off Alfred outside of the movies and Fox's Gotham, it's Pryce. I could see Pryce being a Doctor in his youth during a war and leaving home to work for the Wayne family. I have always loved the idea of a PTSD centred Alfred, even though I know the CW wouldn't do it, it would still be cool to see him played by Pryce.
Commissioner Gordon: David Harbour
I'll admit I never saw this one coming until I watched Stranger Things. Damn this guy can go from dark to heroic when he needs to, not to mention he carries this leader type personailty about him. He'd fit more into the sarcastic, sly version of James Gordon, obviously somewhat still in his youth. The guy is also freakishly tall like Ryan and could easily match up to an onscreen presence next to Batman. Also could get a Gordon that kicks ass... But is ACTUALLY an accurate Gordon!
Barbara Gordon/Oracle: Natalie Dyer
Yeah I know, I just mentioned Stranger Things but no one can deny the star power and raw talent in that epic show! So it's no surprise that I'm using one of its talented actresses for Barbara Gordon - especially since she will already have on screen chemistry with Gordon actor Harbour himself.
The Joker: Dan Stevens
Man this guy terrifies me, I watched him in 'The Guest' and now Fox's Legion. He knows how to be the centre of attention on screen, purely beacuse you are terrified to keep your eyes off him. He will shortly be appearing in Disney's live action 'Beauty and the Beast' as the Beast. That would be awesome if both Batman and the Joker had a part of the beast in them, both having something to relate to on the ongoing joke about Batman and the Joker just both being the same type of crazy.
Edward Nigma/The Riddler: Matt Smith
Probably the biggest typecast on this list but I don't feel bad. Matt Smith can play likeable crazy, he can play characters who see themsleves as geniuses. Obviously refrencing Doctor Who, but that isn't a bad thing. I think he could play a broken man with nothing left but his will to always be the best, why I think he could play it in a Shakesperian context.
Selina Kyle/Catwoman: Michelle Ryan
This actress is pretty underated in my books... She has appeared on many Tv shows but has kind of dissapeared. However Michelle Ryan is sort of a typecast on her own because every role she has been in, (minus the English soap Eastenders) she has been a leather wearing, ass kicking, expert thief bad ass! I mean if that isn't enough maybe the side by side picture up there needs to convince you deeper...
Oswald Cobblepot/ The Penguin: Peter Dinklage
I can't be the only person who thinks this makes perfect sense right? Yeah sure maybe the CW might find it hard hiring such a high demanded actor, but I mean a few guest stars for him could be affordable? Dinklage would be a great serious take on Penguin, purely because of how he carries himself, the dude may be a dwarf but he stands taller above everyone else he's ever been in a scene with.
Harvey Dent/Two-Face: David Giuntoli
David Giuntoli hasn't had much work since his small time hit 'Grimm'. In fact he was my original choice for Batman/Bruce Wayne, so this is why I put him as Harvey instead. To me, Harvey has to be Bruce Wayne. I mean everything Bruce uses to deceive the public of his caped crusader counter part: from his looks, his charm, his charisma, his ignorance and cockyness - comes so naturally to someone like Harvey. So it's great to see someone like that charcter be broken and turned into his dark self, just like Bruce was. It's a nice spin on the concept anyway and no one could play it better on a CW budget than Giuntoli.
Bane: Conan Stevens
I'll be honest again, I was originally looking for the guy from Game of Thrones, the guy who plays 'the Mountain'. But I kept being reminded of how intelligent Bane is, I mean he worked out how to beat Batman and gain his secret identity, right? So I found this guy. Stevens is big yes, maybe not as big as the dude who plays the Mountain. But Stevens is 7ft. has been acting since 2005 and has impressed the likes of Peter Jackson. What's even more interesting is the guy originally signed up to be an actor before onscreen muscle. He was a 7ft. kid inspired by Sean Connery. He studied at the University of Newcastle for Acting and actually got 2nd place in his class by the time he passed. Sadly he went to America for an audition for a leading part but one of the Directors told him he'd only be good for "Strongmen typed characters"... So he went back home, put on a tone of mucle for his height and returned to America instanlty standing out at auditions.
If you have any requests for any other characters to be cast, let me know below! Feedback would also be appreciated, like I said this is an on going list.
