Ben Affleck's THE BATMAN "Would Have Made Fans Proud" Says JUSTICE LEAGUE Storyboard Artist Jay Oliva

Matt Reeves is now at the helm of The Batman, with Robert Pattinson playing the Dark Knight. Storyboard artist Jay Oliva has weighed in on the perception that Ben Affleck didn't want to make the film!

It was clear after the negative critical response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League that Ben Affleck was having doubts about continuing on as the DC Extended Universe's Caped Crusader. The actor later chose to walk away from the director's chair of The Batman, and even hung up his cape and cowl (meaning Matt Reeves could reboot the hero with Robert Pattinson).

It's since become clear that some of Affleck's personal issues factored into his decision to step away from The Batman, but he's by no means finished with the character.

As well as recently completing reshoots for Zack Snyder's Justice League, Affleck is also expected to reprise the role in The Flash. When one Forbes writer recently alleged that Affleck left The Batman due to a lack of passion for the project, DC Films storyboard artist Jay Oliva (who has primarily worked with Snyder) hit back at those claims by sharing some of his own insight into what happened.

"I was working with [Ben Affleck] personally just prior to him leaving the project and not once did he seem like he didn't want to be Batman," the artist reveals in the Tweet below. "His version of Batman in his solo movie would have made fans proud."

Short of a script leak, it's unlikely we'll ever get to see what Affleck had planned for The Batman

First first for me! I'm actually sad movie wasn't made, especially how Reeves is looking like a complete nutcase now.

Where did Scott Mendelson got that info? Well, the same place everyone else...seeing that Batfleck moved on from the movie since he got so disappointed due to BvS box office and critics

@Elbarto63 - Ben left...because he's an alcoholic and his wife was leaving him. Scott Mendelson is a [frick]ing idiot, who defend the ST to the hilt...for some reason.

@nikgrid - You are absolutely right in everything you just wrote. But that doesnt change the fact that Affleck was also disappointed on how it all turned out. Same as most of the fans. Except toxic snyder fanboys, of course.

@Elbarto63 - Yeah for sure the theatre cut of BvS is bullshit.

Lol Snyder and his cult (Oliva included) have such a hard-on for Mendelson.

I will say this, I was looking forward to a Affleck written-directed-starred Batman flick. I felt he would redeem himself. I was very disappointed watching that project fall apart. Dude's a good actor.

Jay Oliva is a Snyder cult member, so ignore whatever he has to say.
