Jon Hamm Is Ready To Take Over The Role Of THE BATMAN From Ben Affleck

It's pretty obvious that Ben Affleck's days as The Batman are at an end but would Jon Hamm (Mad Men be willing to don the cape and cowl? During a recent interview, the actor made his interest clear...

Jon Hamm is a name that's been mentioned in regards to Batman for years now and while the majority of fans were happy when Ben Affleck was cast as the Caped Crusader, the support for the Mad Men star to suit up has never actually gone away. Now, the actor has made it clear that he would be more than willing to play the character providing the script is good (and with Matt Reeves writing, it will be).

"It depends on the script, what the story is," Hamm explains in the video below. "I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well."

Adding that he loved Black Panther and is a fan of FX's Legion, Hamm confirmed that he hasn't actually had any conversations with Warner Bros. about taking over but is confident that "I'd probably fit the suit. I'd have to work out a lot, which I don't love. But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it: why not?"

"I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men," he continued. "I have never had a conversation with anyone about it, literally. And I've sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the Internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the Internet." Would you like him to play The Batman?

@knocturnalzen10 -
Agree. Guess he would be a great Batman, too.
What about his age? Could he do that for lets go big and say the next 10-15 years?!

@knocturnalzen10 - agreed. But I think he’s still young and agile enough to make the suit work too (not to mention vast amounts of the action can be stunt work).
I’m 100% behind this.

@knocturnalzen10 - Don't know if you guys have ever watched the show Mad Men but his character Don Draper is basically a late 1950s Bruce Wayne. If he got the role he'd absolutely kill it. Trust me

Does anyone else here think he’d be a good fit for an MCU Kraven The Hunter?

@MUTO123 - Im not sure to be honest, but in my opinion Gerard Butler would be better.

@aflynn - because of the timing of this interview, I think he's already in like Cavill was as Geralt xd

@anemia1337 - Speaking of Geralt. John Hamm would've made a much better Geralt of Rivia imo. Nothing against Henry Cavill- he's a good actor and all, but I just can't picture him as the character.

I'm a huge Witcher fan👍

Nope, go younger so you have a trilogy and JL films then pass it off.

Hamm would have been great instead of Affleck as an older Batman (HATE THAT IDEA). Batman is the $$$ maker, and has a lot of options for spin off characters that will excel.

@Menks123 - the 40’s are the new 30’s. He’s still got plenty of time. No need to age him with grey temples ala Ben. Batman is supposed to be mature and gritty. He’s a Much more believable character with maturity and experience under his belt (so to speak). Hamm could handle it for sure.

@Lothar - He is 47.

Batman is arguably the most popular hero in the world, and you want this universe to go on for 10 years like Marvel. I doubt Hamm would want to do this until 57. Go younger, like 35 with Cavill's (Hopefull still) Superman for a good long while.

This isn't Ironman, where you can CGI most of him and be able to look good and get away with it like RDJ.

@Menks123 - instead of worrying about trilogies and universes they need to make ONE GOOD MOVIE. That’s why Wonder Woman was successful. They should’ve backed up the Nrinks truck for Bale, but they didn’t, so screw the DCEU idea until the studio has built the fan equity with quality solo films.
