The Batman is 2022's first massive blockbuster (no offence, Uncharted), and with an IP this huge, all eyes will be on the Dark Knight to see whether the box office has truly recovered or not.
Over the coming weeks, we're expecting to see a lot more from the movie, and the merchandise rollout has begun today with a couple of teaser videos for Hot Toys' upcoming Batman 1/6th scale collectable action figure. As you can see, it looks like we'll be getting both the Dark Knight and his bike, though we'd bet on figures for The Riddler, Catwoman, and The Penguin following.
It's also worth pointing out that many companies have been releasing toys featuring Batman in that red lighting from the first teaser. Hot Toys doing the same thing wouldn't surprise us, but the most exciting part of this eventual reveal is going to be getting a much better look at the new Batsuit.
The new costume looks very different to past iterations, so we're curious what surprises it holds in store for us.
The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.
Joining Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.
