"Once I had a wife, my great love. She was taken from me."

It is being reported by BadAssDigest that The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan is currently looking to cast an actress in the role of young Ra’s al Ghul’s Wife…

“My sources – who have been pretty good so far – tell me that they’re casting Ra’s Al Ghul’s wife right now. We may get a serious look back at the life of Ra’s.” (badassdigest)

Perhaps this is obvious given some of Liam Neeson’s lines in Batman Begins and the recent casting of Josh Pence to play a young Ra’s al Ghul.

Some of Ra’s al Ghul’s/Henri Ducard's lines from Nolan’s Batman Begins:

Henri Ducard: You're stronger than your father.
Bruce Wayne: You didn't know my father.
Henri Ducard: But I know the rage that drives you. That impossible anger strangling the grief, until the memory of your loved ones is just poison in your veins. And one day you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed, so you'd be spared your pain. I wasn't always here in the mountains. Once I had a wife, my great love. She was taken from me. Like you, I was forced to learn that there are those without decency that must be fought without hesitation, without pity. Your anger gives you great power, but if you let it, it will destroy you, as it almost did me.
Bruce Wayne: What stopped it?
Henri Ducard: Vengeance.

Henri Ducard: But I know the rage that drives you. That impossible anger strangling the grief, until the memory of your loved one is just... poison in your veins. And one day, you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed so you'd be spared your pain.

Henri Ducard: Death does not wait for you to be ready! Death is not considerate or fair. And make no mistake: here, you face death.

Well for crying out loud, if Nolan's gonna do Ra’s al Ghul’s backstory why did he make Selena the villainess instead of Talia?

Its possible this could be true, but where's the confirmation of that guy cast as a young Ras? Without that confirmation, this news is just propaganda.

This movie makes me so happy

"Personally I'm a sucker for Bane, if he were cast right and they stuck to source material i think he would fit perfectly into the Nolan world. If that doesn't happen I think Ra's Al Ghul should return. After all he is the one person who knows how to mess with Bruce Wayne and even though Batman beat him in battle, he still lost the war. Ra's unleashed Arkham and the Joker, end result - Dent got screwed up and Bats is on the run. Ra's definately knew what he was doing.

Another idea could be Bane being sent to Gotham by the League of shadows (Ra's or Talia) with full knowledge of Bruce Wayne and his alter ego in order to determine the better protege. Rather than have them share a father, Ra's Al Ghul should be the one thing that connects them. Bane is another parallel to Bruce Wayne, the have vs the have not, the lo-tech vs the hi-tech. Just a thought"

I'm willing to bet that Selina Kyle has some ambiguous connection to the Falcone family & that Marion Cotillard's character is simply a cover up for her real identity, Talia Al Ghul...much like Henri Ducard

in the comics Ra's has that pool that keeps him alive and makes him younger, what if the guy whos gonna play the younger Ra's is actually gonna be the villain?

@ISleepNow

Maybe Miranda/Talia will start the movie as Bruce´s love interest and Selina/Catwoman will start as the female villain,but at some point of the film, the roles can be inversed.
Miranda/Talia becomes the villain and Selina/Catwoman becomes the love interest and ally.

@jazzman: Lol, I don't even know... I dunno, though. Nolan hasn't said it, himself. are there any official sites illustrating this source as legit? Call me stubborn, but it still seems like a plain article... somewhat, lol.

@balegirlbrazil

I once thought that too.

@CigBreath

Maybe the film starts off with a flashback. 30 Years before the events of 'Batman Begins' Henri Ducard, his wife and daughter, are attacked by ninjas. The League of Shadows. In an attempt to "cleanse" their city. In defense, Henri kills Ra's Al Ghul. His house is burnt. His daughter and wife are left behind. Henri is taken with the ninjas unharmed. They name him the new Ra's AL Ghul. Later, rising from the rubble is Henri's daughter. Present day, she goes by Selina Kyle, her adopted name. She is the heir to the position of Ra's Al Ghul. The injures she sustained from the attack are all she has to remember what happened and who she is. Catwoman Begins. Al Ghul = Arabic. Cats are Egypt Arabic Gods.

“My sources – who have been pretty good so far"
MUAHAHA!! Is that the same source who said that Black Mask and Alberto Falcone would be in the flick?? The worst way to start an article...

But, damn!! Hate to say that, but this shit could be right... could be the full circle.

@CigBreath--It sounds good on paper, but I have difficulty taking anything you say seriously after all of your campaigning for Lindsay Lohan to be in the Superman movie. I think I'll just wait and see the movie for myself.
