From BOF..

“A movie production asked Pittsburgh Public Schools to arrange for some of the district's closed school buildings to be made available to location scouts from a film company. Obviously that filmed turned out to be THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Tours of four closed elementary schools were given, and of the four, I've enclosed photos of the one building in which they were 'very interested.' The building’s interiors seemed to be their priority.”

Jett over at BOF reckons since it's possibly the interiors of these buildings that they are interested in, if it may be this movie's version of The Old Post Office from the Chicago shoot of The Dark Knight. This was the hub for much of the interior shooting for that movie.

BOF definitely have some sources. The problem is that sometimes they gets ahead of themselves and post silly speculation and guesses and it tends to reflect badly on the stuff that IS legit. They have broken quite a few stories from The Dark Knight there though.

Next two years are going to rock for CBM's hopefully! :D

MARVEL @ Yeah, BURTON's GOTHAM CITY is perfect!

I wouldn't say Nolan's Gotham in Begins was all that real lol.

Epic movie tho!

The Wolverine and The Dark Knight Rises will be the movies of 2012. They are the only CBM's of that year promising depth and substance instead of just flashy fun.

Personally I don't have a good feeling about the Avengers movie. I know its everyone's HOLY GRAIL of CBM's even though they haven't even seen it yet, but i think packing all of the huge heroes in one movie isn't going to work well. And Joss Whedon definitely isn't a consistent director.
I think that the only reason people are excited for this movie is because, well, who wouldn't want to see all of their favorite super heroes together in one movie.
But im not going to just trash the movie before seeing it either, ill just remain hopeful.

@MovieMann- the director/writer for the avengers and his best, and only, movie directed "serenity" should be enough proof that this movie is going to do well and it should put your bad feeling about the film at ease.
MovieMann

@techdude- The fact that he has only done one movie worries me even more. Gavin Hood's first film "Tsotsi" was an academy award winning film, and look how his second movie turned out.

Also I apologize about calling Joss Whedon an inconsistent director I was actually thinking of Kenneth Branagh.

@MovieMann- Alot of directors make mistakes. But the fact that this is Whedons first big film is great. And sor far he has a great track record with everything he's written(execpt Alien Ressurection... which was ruined by the director changing everything). I'd be more worried that TDKR is underwhelming or possibly even bad. Nolan hasn't made a bad film yet (so i'm told) BUT... there's always a chance. Still, i'm hoping all the CBM's of 2012 are great and well written/directed films.

@Ryguy don't hate on one of the best NHL players today! Actually it's not wise to hate on any Pittsburgh Sports team (okay you can hate on the Pirates) when there are Yinzers around we've been known to beat people to death for it in restaurant bathrooms (true story.)

On subject anyone that has every visited Pittsburgh would know (and I've said this for 12 years) Pittsburgh is a real life Gotham architecturally and the over all look of the city.

Back in 1998, Tim Burton made a decision to film SUPERMAN REBORN in Pittsburgh, PA and that location area may have some affection. Dont blame this on Tim Burton he already did messed up the 5th Superman ? Before everything went happened he casted Nicolas Cage (The Man of Steel) to be shot and filmed in that area where he wanted to be ? I hope Chris Nolan cares to ask. Batman was mentioned as a cameo to that script by Kevin Smith.

I hope everybody understands the situation

This could be a non-story as the state of PA is talking tax cuts and the Pitt Film Office could be a victim of it. A friend of my wife's (who was doing the location pics) says it doesn't look good for it to be filmed in Pitt. Here's the link of the possible bad news: http://www.wtae.com/entertainment/26907257/detail.html
