A few excerpts from the interview

Playfully says,"I do read comments and I cry. I can't cry for everybody."

"So many people love him. And when you step into that role - you are going to fail. And be judged."

"Just trust me. I trust Nolan."

He says that he was 179lbs during Warrior and has increased his body weight to 190lbs to play Bane. But he adds that Batman fans aren't satisfied with his current size and would like to see him at 220 pounds, and jokingly corrects himself an implies that might even want him at 400 pounds.

The sad truth is when Hardy talks about how immensely the fans love the character of Bane, and he feels there is no way he can please everyone, he any actor is destined to "fail" when placed into a situation like that.

@SHHH THANK YOU! Nolan could've just cast some random wrestler who can't act but has all the muscles, instead he went for someone who actually can act.

@Jazzman We can't say for sure until we see a proper look at him in the film. We barely got a good glimpse at him other than his face in the teaser, I'll wait til I see better pics of him before I judge.

How can I trust Chris Nolan on a villain when he screwed up the Joker so much? I love his work. I really do. "Batman Begins", "The Prestige", and "Inception" are great. I just think that my beloved Bane will be mediocre. That's a HUGE step up from "Batman and Robin", but that's not saying much.

You know, I'm one of the few people on this site that thinks that the Burton movies were complete turd. Michael Keaton looked more like Paedo-Wayne, and Nicholsons fat Joker was...average. Batman Returns was as entertaining as waiting for my green highlighter to magically become Arkham City... Nolans Batman will always be the definative Batman in my opinion. I'm sorry if it looks like I'm trolling...

I have faith. Hardy's a pretty solid actor. His word's good enough for me.

Vafrous - 8/30/2011, 12:23 PM
And I just want to say that I want Batman to defeat Bane. No one else! I don't want to see Bane dying via an overdose, or being gunned down by the GCPD, or being killed by either Catwoman or Tate/Talia etc. I want Batman to beat the shit out of him at the end.

Tom will do just fine (watch Bronson). Yes I kinda wish they would have kept the Latin part (being Latino myself), but that's forgivable as long as it all works within the context of what Nolan has built.
CapFan79
CapFan79 - 8/30/2011, 12:24 PM
@SHHH he wasn't "big" in the trailer, just really close to the camera and out of focus. LOL!

@Cherry well said :)

Everyone needs to chill the [frick] out. Has Nolan ever made a bad film? Do you think he's going to [frick] this up? NO!

If you're going to blame anyone, blame WB, not Nolan. I still say you're all idiots for bashing this movie a year in advance *cough*First Class*cough*

Just wait
