Treat Williams Up For A Role In TDKR?

It seems he WAS at any rate. In a recent interview Willaims speaks about his schedule, and how working on his tv show Against The Wall might keep him from a role in The Dark Knight Rises..

Christopher Nolan is still rounding up talent to fill roles in his final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. Recently Juno Temple was confirmed in an unknown role, and now it seems that Treat Williams was up for a part too. He may not be able to do it though, given what he says in an interview with Zap2it..

Williams tells the site..

"I think 'The Dark Knight Rises' came up before ['Against the Wall'] was set, because that might take me into September. I think that would be a direct conflict. But we should all have such problems, right?

You may(if you're over 25:) remember Williams from his insane turn in Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead and from the incredibly crap but still kinda good Leviathan and playing the villain in the incredibly crap, just crap Phantom movie. More recently he appeared in 127 Hours and TV's Everwood. Williams also says that his tv work may keep him from a role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western. I would look into getting out of that contract mate!

No indication of what role Williams may play, or may HAVE played. But we will keep you updated if any more on this comes to light.

He's a veteran actor much in the same vein as Eric Roberts who turned in a pretty damned good performance in The Dark Knight. So yeah, I am looking forward to seeing him make an appearace. Maybe as the Mayor of Gotham or maybe a shady business rival of Wayne Industries. I keep saying that if DC/Warner Bros. were smart they should include a scene in the new Batman or Superman film where Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent meet. Scenario: Have Kent interview Wayne for the Daily Planet. Just a few lines and interview over. The two go their seperate ways. Just something to connect the two characters that has yet to happen.

thanos83 Is this good?;)

Treat is actually very good actor when he gets the right role(Once Upon A Time In America, The Devil´s Own, 127 Hours). Wonder who would he play in this?

Nolan loves to get these old timers back in the saddle! Hauer, Roberts, Berenger and now Williams. I wonder if it was a major role he was offered.

XANDER DRAX... both begins and ends with an X! This guy was prodiminantly featured as well as William Hurt (Professor John Robinson) in Christopher Reeve's biography, and both to my knowledge still are very active with his charity, he has all the respect in the world from me, but I'm sure if he's unavailable Nolan could use someone like Terry O'Quinn and it would be legendary.

I can't believe you guys haven't mentioned his best film...DEEP RISING!

An essential B+ grade monster movie, in my opinion.

Deep Rising is one of the reasons why i hate going on boats. Treat is cool. For some reason I cant see him in TDKR but definitely as Perry White in Superman.

i can see him as possibly Rupert Thorne... or Harvey Bullock... although i think Tom Wilkinson wouldve made a great Rupert Thorne but insted he played Carmine Falcone when i thought he looked much more like Thorne than Falcone... but he did a great job nonetheless cuz hes a great actor... as i said i think Treat will be playing either Thorne or Bullock
