Yesterday, we learned that Marvel's Captain America: Civil War had become the first 2016 film to cross the $400 million mark at the domestic box office and today, we have reports that Warner Bros.' Dawn of Justice has concluded its domestic run at $330 million. These numbers come after Batman v Superman has been in US theaters for twelve weeks, compared to Civil War's six. Currently, Dawn of Justice's first week of release accounts for 63% of its total domestic gross while Civil War's opening week numbers make up 56% (Civil War's percentage is likely to decrease as the film continues to earn money).
From an estimated production budget of $250 million, Batman v Superman has accumulated a worldwide gross of $872.6 million. In comparison, Civil War also has an estimated production budget of $250 million but its worldwide box office total currently rests at $1.14 billion.
