Today,
Batman-News posted a new article in which they claim a source has tipped them off on a new cast member for Zack Snyder's untitled
Batman/Superman film.
"According to my source, Momoa signed the dotted line and joined the Batman vs. Superman cast a couple of months ago. There’s no word yet on who Momoa will be playing, but previous rumors have tied him to Aquaman. I’m labeling this as a rumor for now, but I feel that this information is accurate based on who I got it from." - Batman-News
If true, it wouldn't be a shock. Back in December,
Variety and
The Hollywood Reporter had reported Momoa entered negotiations with Warner Bros. for a part in the
Man of Steel sequel. A few weeks later Momoa denied those reports, telling
IGN, "It's just rumors. It's flattering. I want to say something amazing, but I can't comment on rumors." Then a few days after that,
Badass Digest backed up that rumor with possible info on the specific role in question. "I was recently told by a very, very trusted source that the role Jason Momoa was up for (but is currently denying) is definitely Aquaman, but it's essentially a cameo setting up the next movie."
BATMAN/SUPERMAN - Zack Snyder will direct the film from a screenplay being written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer and a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder.
