BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Explains How His Anti-Hero Could KILL The DCEU's Superman

The hierarchy in the DC Extended Universe is about to change, and Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has some fighting words for what would happen if his anti-hero were to cross paths with Superman.

We didn't get a trailer for Black Adam at DC FanDome, but a featurette and clip was more than enough to get us excited. In the latter, we saw Dwayne Johnson's anti-hero return to Earth and make short work of some attacking goons. Using his magical abilities, he turned one of them into dust, and it's clear that this guy is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the DCEU.

Since the sneak peek dropped, Johnson has been hyping Black Adam on social media, and his latest comments have got fans talking following some bold claims made by the actor. 

"Remember, Superman’s greatest weakness isn't Kryptonite, it’s magic. Black Adam’s greatest superpower is magic," he reminded fans. "They both fly at light speed. They both are unstoppable forces. But only one will kill the other. And we know who that is."

That's fighting talk, alright. Honestly, if Black Adam and Superman were to clash on the big screen, we'd definitely put our money on the ruthless anti-hero seeing as he's willing to kill and is powered by magic. It's unknown whether we'll ever see those two meet in live-action, especially when Henry Cavill's future as the Man of Steel remains up in the air for the time being. 

Black Adam vs. Superman isn't guaranteed, then, but Black Adam vs. Shazam has to be on the cards. 

Black Adam is set to be released in theaters on July 29, 2022.

People always get this wrong.
Superman is VULNERABLE to magic, meaning that it affects him just like any other normal character, it's not a "weakness" per se like the Green K.

He can take Black Adam for sure.

@Doomsday8888 - Right. People get this wrong all the time. Kryptonite is DEFINITELY his biggest weakness.

With magic, he just doesn't have a defense against it. But he's still so nearly invulnerable that he can take a beating from it.

For example, if someone hits him with a normal baseball bat, he won't even feel it. But if someone has a magic baseball bat that does 10 times the normal amount of damage, it would hit him just as hard as it would a normal person. But the difference is that his body is still nearly invulnerable. So while that would kill a normal human, Superman would still take it on the chin like a champ.

Magic doesn't negate his natural defenses. He's still a beast. Krhptonite drains his powers and makes as weak as a human, and immobilizes him. How quickly the effects hit him are different depending on who is writing the story, but Kryptonite is far more deadly to him than magic.

@Doomsday8888 - yeah. Not to mention superman has been able to defeat Shazam multiple times despite the magic "weakness". Meanwhile kryptonite can actually kill superman if he's exposed to enough of it.

@Doomsday8888 - Yeah, I remember a Buffy episode where someone said vampires were vulnerable to fire, and someone else replied with something like "Well, you mean exactly like everybody else?" or something like that, and this is the same, lol.

Anyway the teaser was pretty cool, so my hopes aren't destroyed yet.

Black Adam being in JL may not be that much a problem, but Bendis' writing is. There are a LOT of people who enjoy the five last pages about JL Dark more than the main story.

@Krav - I know, was thinking about that while he was describing getting footage together for DCFandome. He was like "I talked to MY director." vs 'I talked to the director." or "I talked to our director."

Basically means, this isn't just a movie with Dwayne Johnson in it, its HIS movie lol

I'm fairly certain Superman has beaten Captain Marvel every time they've fought. And Marvel has the same powers as Black Adam.

He'll, even in Kingdom Come, when Marvel is a full grown adult and brainwashed to be an evil killing machine, he couldn't beat Superman. Granted Superman had been on earth so long by then that all the sun's rays that he absorbed made him the strongest he's ever been. But that so goes to show that magic isn't some "end all be all" tool that Superman can't overcome. Otherwise it wouldn't have mattered how strong Superman was.

Dwayne out here living my boyhood dream of being strong enough to kill Superman.At this point it's obvious WB have a Superman problem and it's extremely embarrassing.Teth Adam need a Superman to trade blows with,Battinson need a Superman,will it be Sasha Calle cousin from earth 2? dunno.How you gon build a cohesive multiverse of DC characters without Superman and all this shitty politics going on at WB?

Superman has a lot of weaknesses including Nukes which one almost killed him. Biggest weakness is he can die by breaking his neck like General Zod. Superman has no healing powers and isn't a true immortal.

I liked the Black Adam teaser the most out of the DC teasers but man it felt like they went cheap on the cgi of him turning the dude to ashes. Let’s hope it’s better in the next trailer.
