BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Is Unsure The DC Comics Movie Will Start Shooting In July As Planned

Black Adam has already faced countless delays, but over the past year or so, the DC Comics adaptation has finally started taking shape (heck, we've even had a teaser poster). Unfortunately, it appears as if the movie could end up being a victim of the long list of COVID-19 related postponements which have been hitting Hollywood as of late.

During an Instagram Live video last night, the Hobbs & Shaw star commented on his hopes for Black Adam, and noted that it's possible it won't start shooting by July as planned.

"I’m very excited about Black Adam by the way, I’ve been training very, very hard for that role," he told fans. "We were supposed to start shooting it in the summer, in July, and we’ll see. I’m not quite too sure if it’s still gonna happen - or, at least, if we’ll still start shooting in July but it will all work out the way it’s meant to work out."

It would be a great shame for Black Adam to be faced with yet another delay, but it almost feels inevitable given recent world events, and the health of safety of the cast and crew is ultimately what's most important. The hope is that the Coronavirus won't be as significant a threat by the summer, but no one can predict what's to come right now.

Theaters remain closed for the time being, but there's currently no reason to suspect Black Adam won't meet its planned December 2021 release date (even if it doesn't start shooting in July).

We'll keep you guys updated!
