Having previously revealed that he had the choice of either playing Shazam or Black Adam in WB's Shazam movie, Dwayne Johnson has revealed a little bit of what led to him choosing the villain over the hero. While speaking to Hey U Guys!, The Rock stated that he's anxious to get started filming. "I can’t wait. e’s a unique type of villain. When you start off as a slave, you’re not in a good mood! There’s a heavy wrath that a lot of people have to pay. But when it’s fuelled by a righteous anger if you will, like Black Adam, then you open up to what the character can be which I’m really excited about. That’s why he’s not just a straightforward bad guy."
Shazam is expected to be released on April 5, 2019. The film is currently without a director by Darren Lemke is currently working on finalizing a script. We also do not yet have a Billy Batson or Shazam/Captain Marvel. Might I suggest a stoic Jon Hamm for the role of Shazam? A one-time Superman contender, his schedule should be pretty open these days.
