Shuri Actress Letitia Wright Says A BLACK PANTHER Sequel Depends On What Happens In AVENGERS: ENDGAME

The fate of Black Panther 2 rests in the turnout of Avengers: Endgame, and actress Letitia Wright says "something crazy" needs to happen for a sequel since Shuri and King T'Challa are part of the fallen.

At this point, Black Panther 2 has pretty much been confirmed by Marvel Studios. But in the spirit of keeping things interesting for Avengers: Endgame, the cast has been playing it coy when it comes to talking about highly anticipated sequel — especially since, as Chadwick Boseman now famously pointed out, Black Panther is dead. After all, there can't be a sequel if King T'Challa doesn't come back, right?

Therein lies the importance of Avengers: Endgame, and during the Los Angeles premiere of the blockbuster film, actress Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, was asked about Black Panther 2.

"It all depends on this movie, really. It all depends on this movie," said Wright, whose character was an offscreen victim of the Thanos snap in the end of Infinity War. "We want to do it. We would love to do a Black Panther 2, but if something happens that is crazy, we might not see any other of anything."

Trying to get a little something out of her, Entertainment Tonight reporter Kevin Frazier pointed out that Shuri actually becomes Black Panther in the comics. Wright acknowledged the comic book storyline, but added that the Russo brothers are ultimately in control of the MCU's fate.

"She does," Wright acknowledged, "but then you have the Russo brothers and their ideas and that can change everything."

Check out the full interview with Black Panther star Letitia Wright below.

We'll find out if Black Panther, Shuri, and the rest of the fallen somehow come back from the snap when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.

But wasnt Coogler already working on the sequel. And really, what happens in Endgame will definitely not affect a sequel to a billion dollar movie

@MalseMarcel - Yea, a sequel is pretty much confirmed (though not OFFICIALLY announced by Disney as they haven't really revealed their Phase 4 plans). But the cast is simply telling us this to keep in line with Avengers: Endgame.

@MattIsForReal - It's been pretty much confirmed w/ Coogler writing and directing.

@L0RDbuckethead - Yup, I know. I mean not officially announced as in Disney hasn't set a date for it. We all know it's coming, but I do think it's fun of the cast to buy into the notion that their characters are "fallen" in Avengers: Endgame. We obviously all confidently believe that most, if not all, are coming back.

@MalseMarcel - This just like Chad's answer in his interviews...
Reporter, "So, will you be back for Black Panther 2?"
Chad, "I don't know, I'm dead,"
Reporter, "Yea, but Ryan Couglar is back and says that you..."
Chad, "I'm dead..."
Reporter, "But..."
Chad, "I'm Dead..."

I just wanna see these two play prominent roles in BP2.

@KWilly - nah. BP has a decent rogues gallery that he doesn't need handme downs.

@MexCowboyNation - Idk. I think if they wanna top Killmonger in terms of scale and threat, Doom is the way to go. It’d be a king versus a king.

She acting like BP won't come back to life. Everyone killed will comeback.

Nah, it depended on Black Panther’s box office performance and.... it’s getting a sequel

But I like her answer. It's very what I'm allowed to say without "spoiling" anything. Let's face it, whomever asked this question knows there will be a BP sequel but wanted to call her out saying "BLACK PANTHER LIVES" People are trolls, she just politely said she wasn't falling for it.

Love it. This is how you handle the death of superheroes...push that narrative rather than teasing the revival of a fallen hero 10 minutes after they died.

Obviously they should be both coming back, we are definitely getting the sequel and she's not trying to spoil things, but I think she might be right in asserting what happens in Endgame does have an effect on what happens in the Black Panther sequel.

I love the Russos and I'm pretty sure I'm going to adore Endgame more than anything, but twice now T'Challa has 'died' and resurrected in the MCU and in a short span of time. Plus, Infinity War had big ramifications for Wakanda as both their king, princess and several of their citizens died in battle and also during the snap. That's a whole lot of story Coogler might not have wanted to deal with or would have wanted to do himself, and now it's done most likely without his say.

To my knowledge Coogler signed on to write and direct the sequel but he hasn't started writing the script yet, and that's probably because he has been waiting to know what actually happens in Endgame, nor would it surprise me if he found out Shuri was also dusted the same time we did (because Feige kept everything in a tight lid, even to the actors). I'm assuming this of course, but that wouldn't be fair either to him.

I just worry he has to be tied down to certain story points when he might have wanted to do something else.

She's like the exact antithesis to Tom Holland, cause lord know the reason they are giving us all this Spiderman FFH promo because there is no way he'd be able to hide his shit
