BLACK WIDOW: Hi-Res Photo Shows Off Taskmaster's Badass Costume In Its Entirety

We may not know when Black Widow will arrive in theaters, but a cool new hi-res photo from the movie shows off the villainous Taskmaster's costume in its entirety as he strides into battle. Check it out!

Disney was recently forced to postpone the release of Black Widow due to COVID-19 concerns and the fact that theaters are now closed, and there's been no word on when the first Marvel Studios movie of 2020 is likely to see the light of day (late in the summer or even this November in place of Eternals are two of the rumoured possibilities).

It's frustrating for fans, but the new norm for Hollywood productions given what's happening.

On the plus side, we do have some new material coming in for Black Widow, including this hi-res shot of the mysterious (and villainous) Taskmaster. A cropped, low-res version of this recently found its way online alongside a number of other images, but this one gives us a detailed look at his suit.

The prevailing theory among fans is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Taskmaster will replicate the moves of those he sees in battle not by some sort of superpower, but with technology that's embedded in his mask. That's a little more realistic, of course, but something which could prove bothersome to fans who were anxious for a comic accurate version of Taskmaster.

I really do like the look but I think the hood is actually just too big. Kinda throws everything off.

It's so interesting how imagery in motion and lighting change your impression of something. This still looks like it came from Arrow, but when he's actually flipping around on film he looks like one of the coolest CBM villains to date

Could've been worse.

@blackandyellow - I actually didn't hate Crossbones' design, I just hated that they killed him in the first 15 minutes of Civil War.

@soberchimera - He looks like he should be on Agents of SHIELD with Deathlok and Knife Fingernails Lady.

@blackandyellow - I strangely had a TON of Deathlok comics growing up. That weird gray skin, sometimes almost looking like swamp thing in how much his body was burned and scarred. A tortured monster. The first time on screen was not quite there....

@blackandyellow - I'll concede that his Rockem Sockem gloves were a bit much, comics Crossbones didn't need those.

Nebula

@soberchimera - If you draw the lines back, he's the catalyst for the Avengers breaking up and subsequently them losing in Infinity War. Screen time =/= significance.

soberchimera - 3/23/2020, 4:52 PM
@Nebula - True, but he could've detonated that bomb without being caught in the explosion, he's not Al Queda. Also, the Avengers still probably would've lost to Thanos in IW regardless if they were together or not.
Nebula
Nebula - 3/23/2020, 5:41 PM
@soberchimera - Yeah, nah. Only a couple of them on Titan almost managed to get the gauntlet off him. Imagine if it were a more coordinated attack involving any and all of them.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/23/2020, 6:25 PM
@Nebula - But they needed half the team on Earth to protect Vision from Thanos' army. If they all coordinated an attack on Thanos, they would've had to contend with the Black Order, Chitauri, and the rest of the army too like in Endgame. And remember, Thanos had 3 stones at this point and this was before Captain Marvel was introduced, still pretty sure they would have lost.
Nebula
Nebula - 3/23/2020, 7:31 PM
@soberchimera - Disagree. You realise that they did end up winning in Endgame when it was Thanos, the Black Order, and more against any and all of them? A massive coordinated attack, wherein they're working together and not apart, what happened? They won.
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/23/2020, 7:55 PM
@Nebula - They had Captain Marvel, the Wakandan Army, and all the Sorcerers for that fight and Thanos didn't have 3 infinity stones to throw the moon at all of them.
Nebula
Nebula - 3/23/2020, 8:15 PM
@soberchimera - They would have had all the same but Captain Marvel if they were together and coordinated in Infinity War. Also, Captain Marvel basically only downs the Sanctuary II which could easily have been done by anybody else — Thor for instance.

Oh yeah, it's also not like Thor almost dealt with a full power Thanos on his own. IS IT!?
soberchimera
soberchimera - 3/24/2020, 5:49 AM
@Nebula - Did we watch the same movie? Thanos still kicked Thor's ass with both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir in Endgame WITHOUT any Infinity Stones mind you. And Captain Marvel fought Thanos one-on-one and was able to hold her own better than Thor. And they wouldn't have had Black Panther or the Wakandan forces because Black Panther wouldn't have had gotten involved with the Avengers if not for Zemo killing his father in Civil War. So the Avengers HAD to be broken up in order to get BP's help. Your argument was that if Crossbones hadn't gotten killed in the first 15 minutes of Civil War, then Thanos wouldn't have eventually won in IW, but if we erase Civil War and the Avengers are still together, there's no reason for Black Panther to have met them.

Question is...
Is the Battison Batcostume supposed to be "badass" in the first place?
I dunno, but i doubt it.

Now Taskmaster on the other hand...

Stupid virus, I really wanted to see this movie in a month or so ☹
Oh well, no point crying over it, there are bigger issues at hand.

@Spidey91 - I agree. I’m way on board with this design at this point. It did take a sec for me to get used to it, not gonna lie. So excited for this movie. 4DX, please reopen soon.....
