BLACK WIDOW Takes Aim At A Massive $39.5 Million Friday And Could Earn As Much As $90 Million This Weekend

It's been two years since we last watched a Marvel Studios film on the big screen, and Black Widow is a movie we've actually been waiting to see for over a year now (it was supposed to be released in May 2020). That's clearly led to a lot of excitement among moviegoers, which is evident from the impressive $13.2 million it earned on Thursday evening.

Now, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that Black Widow racked up a mighty $39.5 million haul yesterday. As a result, it's on track to debut domestically with nearly $90 million!

Overseas, it's made $22.4 million in just a couple of days, and it seems Marvel Studios really had managed to save theaters (something Tenet was, unfortunately, unable to do last summer).

F9: The Fast Saga revved up $70 million for its opening, but the big difference there is that Black Widow can also be purchased on Disney+'s Premier Access for $29.99. Needless to say, a $90 million debut - which may pale in comparison to pre-pandemic figures - is damn impressive.

Disney and Marvel Studios is hoping for a global box office launch of over $120 million, while analysts believe it's more likely to surpass $130 million.

In our review of Black Widow, we concluded by saying, "Black Widow is Bourne meets Bond meets Terminator...with two outstanding, badass female leads. Action-packed, funny, and at times surprisingly gut-wrenching, Cate Shortland's vision for the MCU is bold, empowering, and utterly unmissable."

Have you guys watched the movie yet?

@Saga - Lmfao, Tenet is a mediocre, crappy film that is Nolan catering to his worst tendencies.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Christopher Nolan post TDKR stinks

@TexasAvenger - 100%. And TDKR was a pretty flawed film, so that's when the ship began to sink. I had high hopes that Tenet would be Nolan returning to his prime and delivering a good movie to us, but I was very wrong. One of the worst movies I watched last year.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I’ll probably see it at some point, but it just looks so mediocre and up its own ass.

@TexasAvenger - up its own ass is a great way to describe it. Its as if Nolan made this movie for himself and then decided to release it to the rest of the world. Its one of the most confusing, illogical films I've seen in a while as well.

@Saga - Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this movie was a let down.

@Saga - The only good thing about Tenet was Elizabeth Debicki
