Alright guys, I recently made a review about my most favorite graphic novel of all, and decided to share with you my favorite CBM and why. Obviously, the title heading reveals it to be none other than Blade. Why? Because If I remember correctly, Blade was the first hero I saw to grace the screen and I will always love the famous beginning club scene at the first of the film. I grew up with Blade, and the funny thing about it, was that I did not realize he was Marvel until I looked at the back of the Blade 2 DVD case(I never caught the credits of the first film until I was older and payed more attention).
Wesley Snipes pretty much made the character his own, based off of the vampire-hunter from the original Tomb of Dracula comic books where he was a bit more on the colorful side than he was in the films. Needless to say, Snipes' take on Blade paved the way for the character in any future media. Although there were a few leather-clad editions of the character before the films, Snipes redefined it and brought it back though. When I was a kid and watching this, The beginning where he entered the rave and cleaned house will always be as legendary of a scene to me as Downey jr. becoming Iron man. I've always loved the look and feel of that scene, it truly captured the essence of Blade.
Deacon Frost was...well to be honest I didn't give a rat's ass about him. he was just a dumb villain and it was just so much fun to see Blade blow him into little deacon bits and pieces at the end. Also, another scene that was probably one of the greatest fight sequences ever in CBM history, was when Blade took out all of Deacon's goons and then took deacon out himself. The music was well-coordinated, and the choreography was great too.
Blade is like the godfather of all those Marvel movies we have now that were released after it, because Blade opened up a whole new route and allowed all those movie ideas to grow and become films such as Iron Man, X-Men, Spider-Man, and now all the way up to One of 2012's most anticipated films: The Avengers, So, if you will, Blade was the patriarch for the Marvel productions we know and love(or hate) now, because of its financial success in cinema.
This movie is the greatest Comic book movie I have ever seen, and since I root for the more darker characters in comics lore, this movie has always been gold. Now, lets hope that Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance can bring the Marvel Knights out of the cinematic dark hole they fell in and make them shine just as Blade did. For that, we will just have to see. But this is the end of my write-up and If you have any comments, you know where to put 'em. Just be respectful in any possible debates, I have no problem with an opinion but honestly, nobody likes little brats to start in. We have learned that especially through some of the users who have been banned. Anyway, happy posting!
