When asked by MTV what the dynamic was like between his character and Captain America's, the actor explained, "It's interesting because a lot of people equate it to Batman and Robin, but the reality of it is it's more of a working relationship, a respect relationship as opposed to a leader and follower."

Mackie continued, "The three of us [Cap, Falcon and Black Widow] work really well together and we support each other. All of us are really different in our abilities and powers, so when we come together we make an awesome tandem."

Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Falcon is gonna be badass, that's one of those characters that should be on an episode of Agents of Shield. They should have the black ops Avengers and the regular Avengers and that should be the Civil War. SHIELD Avengers versus the Avengers, set off by Nick Fury's death.

SHIELD Avengers: Captain America, Falcon, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Giant Man and Wasp and Agents of SHIELD.

AVENGERS
Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Doctor Strange, War Machine, Black Panther.

The word "tandem" refers to two things, not three.

Exactly which Robin actually became Batman? Uh, no. The difference is Falcon is an adult, Robin is a teenager. And Falcon doesn't need to be Capt. America, while Robin does eventually need to be something more.

Cut to violins and Hawkeye looks on from the shadows, with big sad eyes lol why is he being treated like crap, even if it was the other three providing up close battles and Hawkeye comes from nowhere and provides support, something awesome like that

lhornbk, I don't even read DC comics and I knew Robin (Dick Grayson) took up the mantle of Batman because I researched it. Be knowledgeable on a subject before you make snarky, sarcastic "uh no" comments. We're all grown up here act like it.

DC fanboys... The fact is that Falcon is his own hero, he doesn't need to be associated with Cap. he is his equal. Therefor its not that he can't pick up as Captain America, its that he doesn't need to. Don't get me wrong Robin is a much more iconic character. But don't trash Falcon

@dancingmonkey I think the answer to that has to do more with politics. I think they casted Jeremy Renner when he was a sort of nobody and now he's a headliner. I think he hasn't really been playing well with the heads at marvel and they haven't really felt the desire to include him on much. Maybe they get the sense that he doesn't really give much of a [frick] about this role (and vice-versa, maybe he feels marvel does't give much a [frick] about him). Not to mention the constant desire from the fans for more diverse heroes. But who knows....maybe Marvel and Renner have a trick up their sleeve somewhere. Definitely wouldn't put it past them.
