CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER - Details On Sam Wilson's Love Interest, Bucky, And The Leader Revealed

Some very interesting new Captain America: New World Order details have found their way online, including whether Bucky will appear, plans for Sam Wilson's love interest, and The Leader's appearance...

The Cosmic Circus has shared new intel about Captain America: New World Order, including the fact a character called Leila Taylor looks set to be Sam Wilson's love interest in the movie.

Despite rumours that Diamondback is going to fill that role, the site believes Xosha Roquemore is playing Leila and that the two characters will not be one and the same. The character, who does originate from the comic books, was introduced by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. in 1971.

As Sam's girlfriend, she was frequently portrayed as a damsel in distress and hasn't really been seen since the 2000s. An advocate for equal rights as well as a reporter, you can probably imagine how she'll factor into this story. After all, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier ended up being surprisingly political, tackling racism and prejudice head-on.

The site also shares an update on Sebastian Stan's Bucky. Despite being paired up with the MCU's new Captain America in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, there's been no official mention of him playing a role in New World Order

Apparently, the plan is for him to "have one or two scenes" before he heads off to join the Thunderbolts, so we don't anticipate this being much more than a cameo. On the one hand, that's a real shame, particularly as Sam and Bucky really bonded over the course of that Disney+ series. Then again, it only feels right that this is fully Sam's movie.

Finally, it's claimed Tim Blake Nelson's villainous Leader "[is] green and going to be very comic-accurate." His transformation was only hinted at in The Incredible Hulk, so we're sure that's something you'll all welcome.

Very little is known about Captain America: New World Order, though it's shaping up to be a pretty busy movie, especially with Harrison Ford set to make his MCU debut as General "Thunderbolt" Ross. If we're lucky, the plan is for the new Cap to square off against Red Hulk.

Captain America: New World Order is set to be released on May 3, 2024.

“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier ended up being surprisingly political”

Yes, how surprising a show about someone taking over the mantle of CAPTAIN AMERICA was political…

@GhostDog - yeah, that's about as surprising as being surprised that Star Wars is political too

@bkmeijer1 - You mean to tell me a movie series about an evil authoriatarian empire with genocidal tendencies being fought by freedom-loving and diverse rebels is political?

I'm shocked, I tell you!
Next you're going to tell me these rebels are being led by...f-f-f-emales *shudders*

@GhostDog - I think he's talking more about the racism issues brought up in the series. Which I suppose makes sense too, considering Isaiah Bradley was in it and the new Cap is black lol. I just hope they don't make it a recurring theme. Sam is Cap now, as he should be. Let's move on and let him be Cap.

@Blergh - yeah, who would've thought that a franchise that has the word WAR in it's title was gonna be political?

@CorndogBurglar - I fully agree with you and LOVED the series, it was falcon and Winder Soldier, but Captain America = Steve Rogers, not Sam Wilson. Nothing about race or color, many times others held the Captain America mantel, and, in the Comics, it always returns to Steve Rogers. Now if they want to make Steve Rogers black, white, gay, whatever, no issues, but only Steve Rogers is Captain America and the super soldier serum which cannot be duplicated. Someone without superpowers will suck as Captain America. Do you think Sam Wilson can lead the avengers; I don't think so. You need to earn it, he hasn't it and cannot do so at that level. This movie may tank, not cause of race, but because we all grew up with Cap as Steve Rogers, he is my Cap and that's what I want to see!!! MCU better wake up.

@GhostDog - They really should have let the moniker die with Steve but that said passing the Shield to Sam is not a problem. The problem is that the name "Captain America" hurts ticket sales overseas. It is perceived by too many people as being jingoistic. YMMV.

So Diamondback was gonna be Sam's love interest? That just sounds odd. Much rather just see Diamondback not being in this at all. One villain is more than enough.

No body cares about anyone's love interest in the MCU they don't last long enough to mean anything.

They go from from one bad guy leading to the next villain and then the super big bad event. Not saying it's bad it's how they created the rhythm. As long as the story is good, their loyal to the existing material, and story feels natural not forced.

@Matador - It was a romance for 3 Phases...
Matador
Matador - 2/8/2023, 10:43 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - LOL how's that?

Steve in modern times still dreaming of the girl he never got to hook up with left fapping in the wind.

Carter moved on after he froze over.

30secs later he timed leaped to the past after Endgame the end.
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 2/8/2023, 11:45 AM
@Matador - How many films was that romance explored over? You act like the romance was dead just cause they weren't together, even though Haley Atwell still often appeared, and Cap was never over it until it was resolved. And moreover, Tony's relationship with Pepper culminated in one of the most touching moments of Endgame (the culmination of years of storytelling), in Morgan H. Stark.

Matador
Matador - 2/8/2023, 1:49 PM
@MosquitoFarmer - Um.....You went with Steve & Carter first you should have started with Tony & Pepper first.

Just saying; just cause Steve & Carter relationship was on vision quest didn't really mean they were on a relationship.

Tony & Pepper is a good point but that's it and you can't say Peter & MJ cause that went no where. Nor Quill & Gamora, Thor's still fapping I think, Vision almost wasn't there, Antman that was like Off spray, and I think that's about it.

@MosquitoFarmer - Just seeing it how it is; imagine Sleeping Beauty sure the Prince did all he could to rescue her while Beauty slept the whole time.
Their relationship started at the end of the movie. And who's to say it was a happy ending. Steve & Peggy relationship started at the end of closing book.
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 2/9/2023, 10:31 AM
@Matador - If that's how you want to see it, that's yours to do. Most of the rest of us found their whole journey beautiful. And anyhow, you started this all off talking about "love interest". Relationship or not, that they are.
Matador
Matador - 2/9/2023, 3:30 PM
@MosquitoFarmer - No I stated nobody really cares about love interest in MCU movies that's not the reason we go see them.
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 2/9/2023, 11:52 PM
@Matador - If you want to argue that is not why we go to see those movies, you have a fairer point, but yet there is clearly still a draw for it. And on the occasions it's handled right, people clearly do care. The charm of these love interest relationships adds a spark to the film and elicits a response, even if it means people not liking it, such as Steve and Sharon Carter kissing. There's a reason why moments like Hulk seeing Natasha in Ragnarok, or Steve and Peggy saying "goodbye" in The First Avenger - or their moment in The Winter Soldier, or Wanda and Vision in all of WandaVision, and so on and so forth, is because they've made us care.
Matador
Matador - 2/10/2023, 9:00 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - If there's going to be a new standard on romance then they need to make it work on the new Fantastic Four movie Reed & Sue that's a long time relationship even with it's uncalculated troubles.

Cyclops & Jean Grey seems more like a Greek Tragedy.

Spider-Man dude has zero luck in relationships.

Silver Surfer & Shala Bal - That just shouts Odysseus

There's probably many I might be forgetting but in comic books they have time to explore those stories of romance in the movies it's a bit harder due to time constraints.

I do like how elements of "The Incredible Hulk" have been included in Phase 4. It's one of my least favorite MCU films, but I think it's a forgotten film. It's nice to see Marvel continue wants to continue on the movie's place in the MCU, and it's characters.
