CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Star Scarlett Johansson Is Officially The Highest-Grossing Actor Of 2016
Based on overall ticket sales, Scarlett Johansson has narrowly edged out Civil War costar Chris Evans to become the highest-grossing actor of the year. Find out who else topped the list after the jump...
Scarlett Johansson is officially the highest-grossing - though crucially, not highest paid - actor of 2016. The Avengers star topped Forbes' list, the top 10 of which was mostly comprised of comic book movie actors such as:
Chris Evans ($1.15 billion), Robert Downey Jr. ($1.15 billion), Margot Robbie ($1.1 billion), Amy Adams ($1.04 billion), Ben Affleck ($1.02 billion), Henry Cavill ($870 million), Ryan Reynolds ($820 million), and Will Smith ($875 million).
Johansson just beat Evans to the punch, as her ticket sales totaled $1.2 billion, thanks primarily to her roles in Captain America: Civil War and the Coen Brothers’ Hail, Caesar!. Next year should also prove to be very lucrative for Johansson, as she's set to headline the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie, among others.
Maybe we'll get some movement on that solo Black Widow movie now?
