Obviously, we've been hearing a lot about Spider-Man possibly joining the
Marvel Cinematic Universe. We recently thought it had been a done deal, thanks to Latino-Review, only for
Sony to later debunk it. Now, we have more reason to be a little hopeful that Spider-Man might be making his debut considering the vagueness of the answers given to IGN:
When confronted about the reports of Spider-Man appearing in
Captain America: Civil War, the writer simply grinned and responded with,
"I read that as well." When that question was followed up with what he thought when the news began to leak,
"More problems for me!" With the interviewers again trying to extracize more information from him, with a question regarding which side Spider-Man would've been on, he replied with,
"That's a great question! More problems for me!" Could this possibly mean that Spider-Man might show up in
Captain America: Civil War? Seems unlikely but these comments certainly inspire some hope to the situation.
In reference to the feel of the movie, McFeely joked that every
Captain America film has a genre and that
Civil War will be
"a musical!" However, on a more serious note, they do say that the reason
Marvel brought them and the Russos back is because they were pleased with the Winter Soldier
"aesthetically." They think it was a very
"adult movie. [...] You could argue that it is the most realistic of the Marvel movies [...] a Russo brothers movie will stay in that same vein."
So what do you guys think of all these new details about Captain America: Civil War? Are you guys hoping to see Spider-Man join the cast? What about the possible Peggy and Tony connection? As always, be sure to comment below.
