Possible Details On How 'Spider-Man' Is Introduced In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

We know Tom Holland will make his MCU debut in this year's Captain America: Civil War, and we're also pretty sure which team he'll be fighting for (at least initially). But now a new rumor claims to reveal the specific reason he chooses that side... or rather, that Avenger!

Though not officially confirmed, when Cap (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) clash in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, all signs point to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) being on Stark's side. There have been rumors doing the rounds for quite a while now about Stark creating an advanced Spidey suit in order to win Parker's loyalty and persuade him to join his team, but according to Geek.com, there's a bit more to it than that.

The site reckons a source has confirmed the new suit, but they also claim the main reason the young web-slinger throws in with Tony and co. is that he grew up idolizing Iron Man. Apparently Parker watched the Armored Avenger in action from a very young age, and this was what partly inspired him (we assume the Uncle Ben "with great power" stuff is still his main motivator) to suit up and become the Webhead. In turn, when Stark hears about Spider-Man's adventures he pays him a little visit and... well, who would turn down the opportunity to join forces with their hero?

Just a rumor for now, but it does make sense. What do you guys think? Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.

@dotanuki... why no? That makes pretty good sense. Remember at the beginning of IM2 Tony was the toast of the country, a heroic rockstar. Then he saved NY from a Nuke (the place where peter grew up mind you) so him idolizing Tony makes sense. Spidey isn't established so it sounds like a great way to introduce him amd make him relevant. Plus we can see the story, and reasons for choosing sides, evolve and develop through the eyes of Spidey amd Black Panther, two people with no real emotional or friendship or hardship (combat) ties to anyone involved. I like the idea.

I think it's way to soon for the Iron Spider suit. I don't think you need to make it now. It makes sense that Spidey would idolize Tony Stark, but I hope he idolizes Captain America as well.

I'm not sure why people would take issue with idolizing, I really don't think it gets in the way of his character, but this didn't bring too much insight on to how and why Spider Man is introduced int the film. I mean, it provides no context, is Tony just fighting Cap in an intense battle then all of a sudden his phone rings and then says "lates, betch, got to go meet up with this spider kid, dude's got some dope powers". My point being, there has to be a justified reason for this meet. But, yeah, I think these two would work exceptionally well together. The banter alone makes my metaphorical panties wet. I apologize for the obscene imagery.

There are certain truths that cannot be changed-Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents murder, Clark Kent was raised by a kindly couple in Kansas and Peter Parker was motivated to become a hero as a result of his selfishness which lead to the death of his uncle. You do not change these for the sake of a movie.

I'm hoping that this rumor is incomplete. Peter's goodness and heroism comes from within himself and his innate sense of right NOT from watching another hero-especially Tony Stark.

I think Peters arc in the film will go from idolizing Tony until Tony does something to fight dirty against Team Cap and Peter sees this and realizes maybe Cap is actually fighting for peters right to be a hero on his own. This will ofcourse lead to peter leaving team tony and saying he cant fight this battle that he doesn't believe in exiting the film for that time and giving him a clean slate yet experienced for his solo film....BOOM!

This sounds so stupid, Marvel wouldn't change why Peter is a hero, and it has absolutely nothing to do with Iron Man. I can't see any Spidey fan being OK with this. I'm still hoping that design of the suit in the new hoodie has nothing to do with the new Spiderman.

Makes sense. i bet his a fan of Cap and all the Avengers too, but not Tony only was the first hero of this era, he's also famous as just Tony, for his inventions and whatnot. He's a public figure. Peter must identify with him, science-wise.

But I think along the way he might end up identifying more with Cap.
