Will We Pay A Visit To BLACK PANTHER's Home Nation Of Wakanda In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?
With Black Panther set to appear in Captain America: Civil War, it makes sense that we'll be paying a visit to Wakanda too, right? Well, you can find out whether or not that will happen after the jump.
While Wakanda was mentioned in Avengers: Age of Ultron, we won't actually get to pay a visit to that country until Black Panther reaches the big screen in 2018. Chadwick Boseman confirmed the news in a recent chat with Nerdist, stating: "I know you thought you were because of 'Age of Ultron,' but…it’s not happening." That's a shame, but you can understand why Marvel would want to take their time designing the country and letting director Ryan Coogler give his input there rather than deciding on that now.
Unwilling to say too much about how much of an impact Captain America: Civil War will have on Black Panther, Boseman did go on to tease what's to come for T'Challa after his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. "You’re seeing him in the larger scheme of things, like fighting outside of his country. It will definitely affect what you see later. That’s all I can say." Unfortunately, we have quite some time to wait before getting to find out what that affect will be, especially as the character's solo movie won't hit for another two years!
