WILLIAM HURT Apparently Reprising 'THUNDERBOLT ROSS' In 'CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR'

Reportedly the 'Incredible Hulk' actor will reprise his role in the upcoming film, as well as a familiar face from the 'Raid' series, and a confirmation of a returning Avenger! Could we be seeing the debut of the infamous 'Red Hulk'?

From AJC.Com, a local news outlet in Atlanta, where Captain America: Civil War is currently being filmed, an article stating that , among the already large cast of the highly anticipated film directed by the Russo Brothers, two new names have emerged: William Hurt and Raid series veteran Chandra Shaker Sangam. It also lists among the cast Don Cheadle, who will likely be reprising his role as the newly-recruited War Machine.

The new “Captain America” movie is cranking up in metro Atlanta and some of the stars have already been spotted out and about.

The threequel is based out of the new Pinewood Studios facility in Fayette County but will be doing filming outside that complex. I’m told there’s a big scene in downtown Atlanta coming up. More on that to come.

The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman,  Don Cheadle, William Hurt and Chandra Shaker Sangam.

I’m told cast members enjoyed dinner at Umi Sushi in Buckhead Wednesday night.

Also, RDJ held a luncheon at Chops Lobster Bar in Buckhead a few weeks ago.

Now, with a project as big as Civil War, it's possible that there are even more cast members yet to join! Paul Bettany and Paul Rudd have both made ambiguous statements regarding whether or not they will reprise their respective roles as The Vision and Ant-Man in the film, and Charlie Cox has been enthusiastically campaigning for an appearance as the masked vigilante Daredevil as well.

I'm really hoping they do Zemo justice....

He could be the best villain as of yet.

If this is true, then I'll just be even more pissed off if the Hulk vs Hulkbuster fight isn't the catalyst for the Superhero Registration Act. All that destruction and (most likely) death would be the perfect stand-in for why the government would want to rein in all these superheroes (though what happened in Sokovia would be a pretty good reason too haha).

With now with this news about General Ross, well, wouldn't he be the PERFECT guy to mount a public campaign against Banner/Hulk about how dangerous and destructive these heroes are in Civil War? I really hope they use that.

Let's be honest, is anyone really surprised about Cheadle returning? It's all but confirmed that the entire new Avengers team from the end of AOU will be appearing in the film. The news about Ross is interesting though. I imagine he'll be heading up the Registration along with Stark and possibly Hank Pym if he makes an appearance (or survives Ant-Man). Maybe, and this is just speculation here, he'll become Red Hulk and join the Thunderbolts team led by Baron Zemo and Crossbones to hunt down anti-Registration heroes, leading to a Daredevil cameo appearnce? Just thinking out loud here.

Starlog reported a rumour about Ross being a apart of Civil War a while back. They said he'd have a minor role in Ant-Man too.

AoU is looking more and more like a prequel to this monster. So much ambition. I'm giddy.

Wait wait wait...surely not true since a few have sworn Incredible Hulk isn't part of the MCU in the last few days.

@MarkyMarkRises

Love the Russos too, but unlike Joss Whedon, they don't write the scripts for these movies.

The success of TWS and the growing hype for Civil War owes a LOT to Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.

YES!!!

Easily the best thing about TIH (with the possible exception of Tim Blake Nelson....shame he jumped ship for the Fantastic 4).

Hope this is true. We need characters from TIH more involved in the MCU.

I really hope this is true. The TIH Stark cameo suggested that the original purpose of the Avengers Initiative would have been to contain threats like the Hulk. Hopefully we see him and Stark in a scene together, referrining those events. I hated the one-shot "reinterpretation" of the TIH scene.

I also loved TIH's tying of the gamma project to the Captain America serum.

Finally some solid connection with that film. It's about time.
Liv Tyler isn't doing anything, GET HER BACK AS BETTY.

None of this Black Widow forced Relationship stuff.

I'd love to see Betty and Pepper interact

Of course she'd be concerned

@MaximusTheMad

they also wrote TFA, and it wasn't exactly exceptional. I feel, based on the 2 cap movies they've written, that the right director can bring out the best parts of their written story.
