Historian-Photographer Patrick Elie, who has committed himself on the task of preserving Normandy´s history, finished his project of shooting the modern-day sight of some of that French city's landmarks, chosen from old original World War II photographs taken in the following days after the Allied Forces disembarked on June 1944 at the historic location.
* In these WWII pictures, there are shown soldiers, vehicles and the native population with a war-torn city landscape behind them.
* In the modern pictures, Elie amazingly recreated the original photographer’s point of view by shooting at the same spots, where possible. I’ve embedded the before and after photos side by side as one-single image, so you can see by yourself if the actual sites have preserved their WWII original look.

A couple of years ago I got a Cap’s TPB with the classic 40’s comic books, in which he pursues Spies in the US and then fights Nazis in Europe; but I can’t remember if he actually participated on D-day.
So, back to Comic Book Movie business, what do you guys think?
With the recent announcement that the Captain America movie will indeed be filmed on location in Europe (London confirmed at least), do you think it would be worthy for the Cast and Crew a short trip from there to good-old Le Franҫe, and film 2 or 3 Steve Rogers and The Invaders fight and pacifying scenes with the Allied Soldiers over there?
