Stanley Tucci Talks More Captain America, Declaring the Design as 'Stunning'

In addition to speaking with Screen Crave recently, Stanley Tucci now sits down with Mawuse Ziegbe of MTV further discussing his "Dr. Abraham Erskine" role in Marvel's much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger. Reiterating a few things, he now speaks on his admiration for the director's way of filming, the design, and more. Check out the video below.



"Joe Johnston is a wonderful guy and I love the way he's shooting it, it's really interesting, it's beautiful-looking," Tucci told MTV News. The actor seemed awed by Johnston's approach. "There's a real power to it and the design is stunning."

"So much fun," Tucci gushed about filming. "I have to go back and ... finish it in October but I was there for a few weeks in ... end of July, August. It was great, a great experience." The star chalked up his good times behind the scenes to his co-stars. "Chris [Evans, who plays Captain America] is great, he's a wonderful guy," Tucci said. "Dominic [Cooper] and Hayley [Atwell] and Tommy Lee Jones - it's great people."

I'm hoping he's correct. Cap's outfit could go south real easily, but it's nice to hear his enthusiasm.

I'm hoping we get something like the Batsuit in the Dark Knight rather than the Daredevil suit.

Still on the fence on that one bro. The individual superhero films do well compared to team films. It's just a bit of a risk to try to make Avengers, but we'll see. I'm not completely sold yet.

Tucci is such a phenomenal actor and one of the most underappreciated in cinema today. With all do respect to the other actors in the film, it was Stanley Tucci's addition to the cast that sold me (mostly) on Joe Johnston helming Captain America: The First Avenger.
