Since the start of DC's "New 52" back in August they have had a firm grasp on the top selling. In February of this year they even had every spot on the top 10. Most prominent has been their "Justice League" title, which has consistently been at the top by selling 100k+ copies per issue.

As of March though, Marvel has dethroned the seemingly unbeatable DC in epic fashion. March was a big month for Marvel not only featured comics building to the May 4th release of the film "The Avengers", but also the beginning of the long awaited Marvel event "Avengers vs. X-Men". These circumstances combined to give Marvel 3 of the top 5 selling comics for the Month of March, all selling more than 100k+ copies with AvX #1 even breaking the 200k+ barrier. This has also led to Marvel rushing 2nd edition re-prints, of which only the AvX re-prints have been announced.

The 15 Top selling Comics for March are as follows:

203,181- Avengers vs. X-Men #1
134,509- Avengers vs. X-Men #0
131,697- Justice League #7
127,402- Batman #7
100,883- Avengers Assemble #1
91,822- Action Comics #7
90,232- Green Lantern #7
89,891- Detective Comics #7
75,297- Batman the Dark Knight #7
66,588- Superman #7
64,975- Flash #7
62,345- Aquaman #7
61,209- Batman and Robin #7
57,568- Uncanny X-Men #8
57,143- Amazing Spider-Man #682

Did you read AvX? Did it deserve the top spot? Will Marvel be able to remain atop, or will DC and the "New 52" regain the throne? Sound off below!

marvel will always be number 1 to me,no matter what.

dc/vertigo comics best titles don't even make the top ten.

animal man, swamp thing & american vampire should be in the top ten.

Not surprised, you know you got the wrong cover there. That cover is for Avengers VS X-Men Versus, its a spin off of AvsX. Not even released yet, lol.

Scott Snyder's Batman should be number one every month. ITS AWESOME!

Not surprised. The New 52 is good but not as good as several Marvel books right now.
