COMICS: Tony Stark's Fate Is Finally Revealed In The Concluding Chapter Of CIVIL WAR II

After a contrived conflict, numerous delays, and strange plot twists, Brian Michael Bendis' critically panned Civil War II event has come to a close, and the results are underwhelming to say the least...

Brian Michael Bendis' Civil War II finally came to a close this week in issue #8. The Marvel comics event has had a rough ride, with its story and plot twists being panned by most critics and a host of delays plaguing the release of the final chapter. The big reveal of the issue, of course, was the fate of Tony Stark; several comics (that were supposed to be released AFTER Civil War II's final issue) have all implied that the founding Avenger is dead, but the final result is unfortunately much more disappointing.

The final battle of the issue shows Captain Marvel dealing what appears to be a fatal blow to the Iron Avenger as she obliterates his armor. However, Stark isn't dead, and later examination of his body by Beast shows that mysterious genetic experimentations Stark made upon himself are keeping him alive and in a comatose state. The nature of these "experiments" is never given context, leaving fans to wonder if this development will actually be explored, or if Stark's miraculous survival was a last-minute editorial mandate.

Given how this event turned out, it's probably safe to say we won't be seeing an adaptation of it in the MCU any time soon! Did you read Civil War II's conclusion? Let us know what you think below!

There are still a few good Marvel titles out there.

But dear lord, this event was hot garbage.

It's funny because Marvel concocted an event before this to merge all their universes together, and now the one they've built is slowly but surely transforming into an alternate universe of its own.

I'm sad that the Marvel Universe has come to this. I quit reading after the last Secret Wars.
