Could Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer be in MCU's future?

This article explores completely unreasonable conclusions I have reached in incorporating the Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer into the MCU

Some of this is based off other articles I read, news I've seen, and my underdeveloped mind...

As we know, Fox owns the movie rights to X-men.  What Fox doesn't own is the TV rights.  At about the same time Fox was battling for the TV rights, FF flopped big time.  This flop gave Feige a spider-man-like opportunity to swoop in and either get back the FF property or share it.

Fox only has X-Men if it lets go of the FF so it is still unlikely that Fox is so willing to give up FF.  However, X-Men has been an incredibly lucrative property for Fox.  Think about not only X-Men movies, but deadpool, wolverine, and the potential for so many other characters to make spin-off movies.

For some reason, right after FF flopped, Marvel (which has a terrible terrible relationship with Fox) gave Fox the rights to make X-men tv shows (two are on the way, Hellfire Club and Legion).  Why in the world would Marvel give something away to a studio it hates and get nothing in return?  Feige would never do that.

Absurd leap #1: Fox and Marvel made a deal for the FF and ultimately, it's expanded universe of characters, which mainly include Silver Surfer and Galactus.  Incredibly, both studios are keeping this a secret.

Absurd leap #2: Marvel has announced 3 untitled movies in 2020....could one of those be the Fantastic Four? Could one be the Silver Surfer

Absurd leap #3: Feige has just announced that Inhumans is being delayed.  Feige claims that things come up (which I believe) and cited the new Spider-Man arrangement and new Spider-Man movie as one of the reasons.  However, what if Inhumans is being held back because there is now a better way to expand the cosmic universe?  What if now, they have the Silver Surfer, a more recognizable character than any Inhuman (to the general public).  What if they now have Galactus as the next main villain, after Thanos (stole this idea from moviepilot.com)?  Wouldn't that be a logical step for a shared universe when you neeed to find a villain that can actually match the power, if not surpass the power of Thanos?  Why go into an untapped well like the Inhumans when you have more name worthy characters you can use to explore the cosmos?  Granted, maybe Silver Surfer left a bad taste in everyone's mouth thanks to Fox, but I think there is a pretty good chance Marvel can reinvigorate the character.  Plus, Feige and Isaac Perlmutter aren't the best of friends, and Feige was rumored to not be thrilled with Marvel branching off into TV with the same universe...so could he be pushing off Inhumans as punishment for Perlmutter and his involvement with Agents of Shield (I kind of scooped this idea from a CBM article).  But it makes sense that Feige has more than enough motivation to find better and easier ways to dig further into the Cosmos.

And wouldn't an FF, SS or Galactus nugget be an insane one to drop in a post-credit scene in any of the upcoming MCU films?

Again, this is all ridiculous, rumor-filled, unfounded jargon, but the complete radio silence from Fox and Marvel over the past 5 months or so regarding the FF may make you wonder...

Fox made their movie, they now don't have to film a new one until 2022, so it might be a while before anything new happens with the franchise. There's better odds of a "Deadpool Meets The Fantastic Four" movie than the rights going over to Disney.

Can't imagine how excited i'd be if Marvel surprised us with the FF or Surfer in a post-credits stinger.

They'd have to introduce them in Infinity War's Part's 1 and 2, and they'd have to be liked.

I feel like the newer film would have worked if it didn't solely try to follow the Ultimate Books like it should have mixed the two greatly and kept the heart of the 616 universe I'm not gonna lie I loved ultimate FF they were very interesting and their costumes were [frick]ing awesome compared to the main universe but just I think they should have meshed the two to get something good I think Marvel may do that since they have been known to mix ultimate with 616 in their films and I Wish they get the rights back To FF since it's the first family and I wanna see the smartest man in the marvel universe not tony but Reed Richards hell I wanna see him Bruce banner and Tony interact with one another like the comics I wanna see Johnny Storm and Spiderman being best friends hell if they get the rights they could actually make torch 16 like how he originally was if they do that We could see him and spidey grow up

@TheNerdGuy - true I mean I know them sticking strictly with the ultimates wasn't the main factor but I think it could have had the potential of being better if it mixed stuff just idk I do agree that it got bad really quick

Fantastic Four really should be it's own shared universe, when you have the depth of that mythology, that amazing rogue's gallery, the elemental simplicity of those characters - there's so much you can do with that alone, that throwing in a bunch of MCU characters & references in a Fantastic Four movie would feel so redundant. Plus, building an entire universe predicated on the fact that they're inter-dimensional explorers, they could easily open a door to the MCU, the XMCU, or any CU they damn please.

Galactus: not a Celestial. Not an Avengers villain, either.

I said a while ago that if Marvel gets the F4 rights back they should do something new with it. Make it set in late 1950-early 1960's during the space race. An old school scifi cheesefest. They get their powers in space and vanish to another dimension or something. You could even do more than 1 film with them trying to get back home as the main plot. When they finally do, it's magically the current timeline. Ya know... 'cause science and stuff. It will allow them to be fully experienced superheroes in the modern day era and it would explain why they never showed up before. (drops mic)

I actually believe all of this. Fox doesnt just want to wait four years to give up the rights, they want to make money now. I bet Marvel got FF back for TV rights to the X-Men. It is the last missing piece to the MCU puzzle and Fox has only ever seen success with X-Men.

What people here don't get is that Fox and Sony are not comic nerds like us. If a property is losing money they have no love for it. To them FF just isn't valuable any more. I bet they wish they has any other Marvel property at this point. Or at least one that lends itself to the successful X-Men universe.

I also believe that Marvel is fine not having the X-Men. They just wouldn't fit in the MCU and work better as a stand a lone universe(or two).

The only reason we heard about Spidey so early is because of the Sony leak. If it wasn't for that I bet we would have heard of the deal first in the trailer. FF is at home. They are just saving the surprise for Comic Con.
