Why don't you idiots just stick to marvel, since they do everything right. Half of the people commenting on this issue subject buy or read dc comics anyways so what does it matter to you. Everytime this site post a topic about Dc is always something negative, unless its something about batman(since this is the statement that comes from the mouth of all marvel fanboys, "I dont like Dc I only like Batman.") where is the middle ground for crying out loud. Where is the balance. Its funny people were hating on X-men but since they their movie turned out good, they are acting as though they have always love those movies lol

@ mbembet

Dc did not let Rucka go he left on his own free will claiming he wanted to focus more on his independent stuff, I guess he was not being truthful.

Winnick is a good writing, and depending on the subject(especially dealing with the Red Hood, he is a great writer.) I bet you loved Under the Red Hood.

Man Dick Grayson is a good Batman, i like bruce as much as anyone but it was cool seeing cool dynamic with the dynamic duo for once, Batman and Robin is a great book and i hope it can stay that way for the reboot.

I am a life long marvel fan, but equally as long a Batman fan (with occasional glimpses into DC from time to time depending on the creative team handling a character). Look, one thing is for sure in comic books...things change. I have hated a lot of changes myself, ESPECIALLY being a Marvel fan. Hell I gave up on comics all together from 1996 til about 99-2000. Ultimate Spider-man got me back into them, to be honest. I believe DC is looking at how Marvel relaunches titles EVERY year, and has big mega-events EVERY year (sometimes advertising 2 mega events, and arranging it so you have to buy ALL the parts almost just to get the big picture). What I am getting at is that DC has understood that to gain new fans one must remain fresh, also the best aprt of storytelling is to never let characters get stale.

DC handles it better than marvel, I will say, because they simply let their characters "retire" for a while. like Knightfall and death of Superman did. They don't milk the death card as drastically as Marvel has over the last ten years, but they know it's also a tired card. I believe they want to just rejuvinate their old characters, and are pulling the J.J. Abrams/Star Trek card. A reboot that isn't a full reboot, but something to make a timeless classic cast of characters fresh again. J.J. Abrams gave Star Trek what it was lacking....a little more 'star wars' to go along with all the science and tech stuff.

THAT's what DC is attempting here. like the Star Trek reboot, they're not saying that the old continuity is completely irrelevant. They are saying that it exists, yet we're left to assume Flashpoint is a continuation of that, crossing over into this new thing.

There've been countless alterations and changes in comics, some we've liked and some we haven't. If nobody was going to read this, they still wouldn't be fans today, because the countless other changes they hated would've stopped them from reading THIS far.

So, with that said, this is the new direction for your favorite characters you love. You may get put off comics for a bit, but there'll come a time where something good comes out of this, it'll get you re-interested, and you'll have a lot of back issues to hunt down due to hating something before it even truly starts. Best I can say is give this a full year to play out. A year from now, you'll get a good idea where the tone of things is going, and then screw it, if you want to, stop buyin'em. Or, you know, check out single-universe creator owned comic series.
