Let's be honest, DC can not make a good movie that isn't Batman, and this comes from a hardcore DC fan. They just had the major blockbuster failure, Green Lantern, and are already in talks for a sequel. Ok, stop right now! DC is rushing into everything and I often wonder how they're so called, "Justice League",will have a realease date in 2013. So here is where I say it, take a look at Marvel DC. They have been doing an excellent job of setting up their universe, and are in no rush. That DC, is what you must do.
DC has made the ultimate mistake of rushing into their universe, and it all starts with Nolan's Batman. As you all know, Nolan has given a realistic tone to his series, and won't let Batman in with the rest of the DC universe. But that's one thing. Nolan has done a good job, while DC has not. DC watched as Marvel was making their universe, and decided to start the development of theirs. Now, DC decided to do that while Nolan was still working with Batman, which is a huge mistake. If DC had just waited for a green Lantern realese after The Dark Knight Rises, things would have been better. DC should develop all of the characters, and yes, reboot Batman. And after all of this, you can start a JLA movie, which is exactcly what Marvel did. They started a universe, and by doing that left the gates open for new characters and new and old storylines. That, is what DC must do. However, the rush is not the only problem.
Poor directing, producing, and writing has cost them, but I have no problem with the acting. Green Lantern had terrible CGI, and it was even apparent in the trailers. Now the writing, oh the writing. First, why would you put in Parralax as the first villain? And secondly, why do you put an entire origin story in one hour and fourty minutes? Simple mistakes like these add up to big mistakes. You need to sit down and ask yourself, "will this work?". DC must take their time and make the storylines that Marvel has been excellent at making. But, don't do another reboot DC, that is a huge mistake. You need to make and amazing sequel, and set up all of the characters after The Dark Knight Rises. During this time create this amazing thing called, " A PLAN!!!". I know, weird right!?
Now, don't let Nolan run the universe, but learn from what he has done. He has done a great job at making a story, directing, and bringing in a great cast. Now, like I said, reboot everything. Set up a great universe, and put Nolan's Superman with the rest of the heroes, please! And if he doesn't budge (Which he must!), then wait it out. Set up the universe, which hopefully what your doing as we speak. And don't go for a 2013 Justice League realese, wait until 2015, so you can set up all the characters without a rush. The DC universe can be just as popular as the Marvel universe. Do what Marvel has done, but not completely. It's DC, not Marvel

Thanks, and please comment.

GL didn't have bad CGi. The only flaw I found with the CGi at all was the texture of Hal's costume. Tomar Re, Kilowag and the rest of the CGi effects were great!

@You are right, about the costumes. Hal's costumes and many small things bothered me.

@GDSUPERGUY- Dude Batman has had way more successful films than Superman and any other DC character.

Batman Returns is still my #1 CBM of all time. The original Batman89 film was a classic. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were epic films in their own right.

Superman has yet to have a great film. Last good film he had was in 1982 IF that can even be considered "good"

DC/WB are VERY Batman-biased when it comes to the films.

Stop bringing up batman and robin as being the blight in his history and catwoman was not selina kyle so she was now bat-family. Every Batman movie 89, Returns, Forever, Begins and The Dark Knight were either good or incredable. Its not that DC cannot make a good movie outside of Bats. Its that they have not so far. I totally agree with your article in that they need a plan as to how to bring their charactors STORIES to the forfront not the merchandizing.
Im a Fan of both universes and would love to see Wonderwoman, Flash, Jonnz, and Other GLs have wonderful story driven movies.
Ive read that someone thinks that Flashes superspeed would get played out easily. Hes been fast for half a decade and Dash from the incredables showed that his power can be captivating on the big screen.
Wonderwoman should be made for female impowerment. I dont want it to be an overly feminine movie but have a stong female in a leading role that shows how women are not the weaker sex.

I like marvel and dc (though I am more of a marvel fan) but I don't think dc should copy exactly what marvel did to set up jla like marvel is doing with avengers. That's copying and not very creative. Come up with something new dc! ;)

@GDSUPERGUY- Superman 3, 4 AND Returns were all collosal failures.

Batman89, Batman Returns, Batman Begins and TDK were all great films and even Batman Forever was pretty decent as a film.

@Hush2010- You're completely right.

@GDSuperguy- Shit sorry. Not Batman and Robin, complete retarded typo on my part. That movie sucked ass. After 'Begins' i meant to type TDK but said B&R instead because you and some Hush guy were talking about it. I was typing in a hurry
