With the final month of DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight approaching us, we have to wonder what DC Comics game will we see next from WB Games in 2016. 2015 had WB Games produce games like Lego Dimensions, The Witchers 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat X, Jurassic World, and Mad Max. With only Lego Avengers announced for January 2016 and 2 DC Comics movies coming out that year, one has to wonder what is going on at the DC centered game studios in WB Games Montreal. WB Games Montreal released Batman: Arkham Origins back in 2013 and they did the Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight but they have still kept quiet for over 2 years. While it is rumored they are working on a Superman game, now we have confirmation they are working on 2 DC games straight from them. Their main site states We are currently recruiting! We are a growing studio with two AAA projects in development focused on expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space. So what are your thoughts? With one of them likely being a Superman game, what would you like to see DC wise from them? A sequel to Batman: Arkham Origins? A Suicide Squad game? A Wonder Woman game? A Detective Chimp game? Comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...

After Arkham Origins and those terrible Arkham Knight DLC packs WB Montreal did, I have little hope for this.

Superman game is a must, Suicide Squad would be dope

I hope one is a Green Arrow game and the other a Shadowpact game. I doubt it will be either and be a Superman and Flash game instead. If it is a Flash game I'd love if it takes place in the Pre New 52 universe, but I think it will be in the New 52 universe instead. One game I would like to see is a Batman by Gaslight. Dishonered showed how cool that setting would be in game form and now I want to play as Batman in that type of universe.

Also Wonder Woman.

I think I might actually buy a PS4 for the sole purpose of playing all of these Batman games, haha.... I've only really played Arkham Asylum and I loved it, but that was years ago

The art for the Joker in all of these games is awesome

How do you do a Justice League game without some kind of fake balancing plot garbage like Gods Among Us had? That's a genuine question, albeit asked in a dickish way.

They basically found a way to make a game where you're feeling like Batman, so I would like to see them do the same with Superman. Absolutely. Give it your best shot.

@Spock0Clock

I won't lie, I think an AAA Justice League video game is completely pointless. AAA Justice League, AAA Avengers, AAA X-Men, and AAA Fantastic Four games are pointless in this day and age.

Here's why. Video games are generally a one player experience. I mean think of all the characters in gaming.

Batman = Batman Arkham series
Marcus Fenix = Gears of War
Master Chief = Halo
Mario = Mario
Sonic
Link = Legend of Zelda
Samus = Metroid
Lara Croft = Tomb Raider
Snake/Big Boss/Raiden = Metal Gear Solid
Nathan Drake = Uncharted
Kratos = God of War
Ezio/Desmond = Assassin's Creed
Blazkowicz = Wolfenstein

And so many many more. Video games point blank aren't the best medium to tell a team based story unless you have like 4 player co-op or some form of co-op. Only game series that has told team based stories well at the moment is the Gears of War series.

While Marvel Ultimate Alliance was dope, who you played as had no baring on the story or changed the story or even factored into the story since all the cutscenes showcased Cap, Thor, Spidey, and Wolverine.

Games are better when you follow one character on his journey then a group on their journey.

Hoping for it being a Superman game and honestly I wouldn't mind on a sequel to Origins if it's a Batman and Robin game that's either co-op or dual play but still you play as Batman and Robin throughout the game.

Well I have a very simple answer to that.

I don't play RPGs and forget about them.

Yes! Nice WB Games.

LEVITIKUZ and @DrDoom

RPG-ish games with teams like that are generally still based around central game mechanics. KOTOR is turn-based dice rolls, Mass Effect is Third-Person-Shooter, Marvel Alliance is a Diablo-style dungeon crawler. And all of the characters' abilities and limitations are built around that. I love all of those games, and each allow some degree of choice in play style, but they don't come close to capturing the real difference in playing as someone like Superman vs. playing as Green Arrow.

Game designers are always looking for ways to balance gameplay, but how do you balance a nigh-immortal alien and a dude with a bow and arrow? The only way is to make everyone sort of the same and hope people have fun anyway (which they generally do, to be fair).

Still, I do fantasize about some studio knuckling under and building a superteam-style game with really diverse and necessarily unbalanced characters. Just start from a foundation of something like a GTA 5 and then make some characters super strong, some able to fly, some able to teleport and on and on. Modders do a sort of decent job of approximating that from time to time, but to actually build a game around it could be absolutely glorious.

@DrDoom

I would. I'm an absolute sucker for playing as underpowered characters when I get the chance. Sue me.

You're talking to someone who played an Engineer in Mass Effect. While my squaddies were unleashing full-auto mayhem with fire bullets and throwing people through the air with their minds, I was pinging along with a pistol, a drone, and half a prayer.

BatmanIsBaddest - 11/29/2015, 9:28 PM
One of them has got to be Suicide Squad. They've been trying to hash that out since Origins and with the movie coming up I doubt they would let the opportunity slide. I'd be interested to see what they would do with a Superman game though.

ME2 was the game that finally broke me on being a completionist at the hardest difficulty. Dumping all of my ammunition into a boss until I had to rely on tech mines while run away from being one-shot for like 10 minutes finished me. Maybe I just suck at games, but ever since then, I only play them for fun and moderate challenge. Never again for self-punishment... :)

Well, I'll just say it this way. I never liked Star Trek at all until as an adult, I decided to just watch all of it from start to finish. To really see if I could understand the appeal. This was back when CBS had every episode online for free.

I wouldn't say I really loved it, but I at least understood why other people did (and that was really my goal, anyway). Wrath of Khan was amazing (probably my favorite movie script of all time), and I generally enjoyed the various shows over the years (except Voyager). Beyond that, though, I wouldn't say I'm that big of a fan, though.

I changed my account name to Spock0Clock while I was still watching the original series on a whim, and that's about when I became a lot more active on the site, so I figured changing it would just cause confusion.

The one in the Collector Ship when you pick up your "new weapon" was the one that really bothered me. I did beat it, and I think the rest of the game on the next-to-hardest difficulty, but after that, I was done with achievement hunting.

(Okay, I looked it up.) The Praetorian fight.

I see. I'll never understand the hatred for Voyager. DS9 and Voyager were the ones I enjoyed the most, but I love all 5 of the shows. I hate what JJ Abrams has done to the franchise though. A little part of me died when I saw his movie.

It's actually the Abrams movies that made me give Star Trek a serious viewing. I watched the first one and felt like it was shallow garbage and saw a lot of ardent Trekkies had felt sort of betrayed by it. Before then, I had only seen Trouble with Tribbles (twice) and the end of Star Trek 4.

But I did want to understand why people could be such loyal fans of a franchise that was so clearly goofy and boring. So I watched every series (except Enterprise, I never got to that one) with an open mind. I totally understand the fandom now, and get all the references and have opinions about "which captain is better" and all that. But more from a concerted anthropological effort, not because it naturally appealed to me.

And in hindsight, yes, the Abrams movies make me sick as well, because they totally missed the point of Star Trek (which I happily understand). :)
