Despite releasing the very first issue back in March of this year, Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino's Gideon Falls is already making its way to television, thanks to Hivemind who acquired the rights to the comic book after a multi-studio bidding war.

It’s still in the early days of development so details on the planned show are limited, but we do know Lemire and Sorrentino will serve as executive producers and the project is set to be an hour-long series.

Gideon Falls isn’t the first big adaptation from Hivemind, either, as they are currently working on Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher series and is producing The Expanse, which just moved to Amazon after being cancelled by Syfy.

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, the book is described as a blend of “rural mystery and urban horror” that follows a young recluse in a big city and Catholic priest who comes to small town. However, their stories begin to intertwine because of the mysterious Black Barn which has ties to the city and the town, “bringing death and madness” to those around it.
