AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #60 Brings [SPOILER] Back As Those ONE MORE DAY Teases Continue

Today's issue of Amazing Spider-Man #60 continues to deepen the Kindred mystery, while possibly laying the groundwork to undo One More Day. That led to a shocking return, with big answers now on the way...

Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man run has brought Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson back together, but it looks like their reunion will have consequences . Harry Osborn's transformation into Kindred is chief among them, and it seems he wants to hold his best friend accountable for the decisions he made during One More Day.

In that controversial storyline, Peter gave up his marriage in a bargain with Mephisto to save Aunt May's life. That also led to Harry's resurrection, and the trauma of being pulled back from Hell (remember, he was the Green Goblin when he passed away) could be why he's Kindred now.

At the end of today's Amazing Spider-Man #60, Doctor Strange does some digging and meets with a mysterious figure who claims to have no knowledge of Kindred's existence. It's then we learn that the Sorcerer Supreme is talking to Mephisto, and that there's something wrong with Peter's soul.

That sinister smile points to Mephisto remembering his deal with Spider-Man, and there being bigger ramifications for Peter than we realised coming out of that arc.

Spencer is taking a slow burn approach to this storyline, and it wouldn't be surprising if it doesn't pay off until Amazing Spider-Man #900 (the next run will put the spotlight on Spidey's battle with Mayor Wilson Fisk).

Will they finally undo the worst thing marvel ever did.......now if only they would retcon the clone saga

@dracula - I don't think this will undo the Electra movie.

@dracula - The Clone Saga just dragged on way too long but there was no extremely egregious decisions in it. Except for maybe the whole Gwen having an affair and kids with Norman...but that sort of it's own (stupid) can of worms.

@dracula - The Clone Saga still bops, I don't care what anyone says. Pound for pound, it's a better story than Civil War, and if it got the same kind of lovingly loose adaptation into film, people would see all the good in it that I see.

....

I'm not living in the past, you're living in the wrong future.

@Spock0Clock -

Remember actually going out to watch a movie in an actual movie theater? In the before time...in the long long ago?

@McGee - I do, but you're asking the wrong person to be nostalgic about it. Sorry. My local theater is just terrible. I try not to sound happy about anything Covid-related (because even the suggestion that there are silver linings is pretty poor taste, I think), but the move of media to streaming is something I've wanted for years.

Peter remembered

They kind of did that in Angel Season One I Will Remember You and its remembered as one of the shows best episodes

Guys...this is a good thing, lol.

I mean yeah, blue balls aside, Spencer better fix that shit, even if he wants to take 100+ issue to do so, kinda like King's Batman run.

Hopefully better tho.

Now i'm already picturing a 12 issue maxi series Spider-man/Mary errr Black Cat... :P

When did the art on this series get so good?
Anyways, leave OMD in the trash where it belongs.
When will Marvel learn that just because people remember it doesn't mean it's good?

One more day should have been the death of Aunt May,it's time for her to be with Uncle Ben.

Let Peter get on with his own life.

Guessing it could be soon rather than later. Hasn't Mephisto been getting a lot of push in the books lately ? Seems to be popping up quite a bit.
